Is wind bad hor a heartleaf philodendron?

Asked by jrpowell (40562points) April 13th, 2008

I have my fan pointed at mine and it is moving a bit. The branches are swaying about .5” on the windy side.

Is this bad for the plant? Or is it like when we use our muscles? Do they break down and build up stronger? Should I move my plant?

Ok, this is a complete guess, but I would posit that philodendron is an understory plant and doesn’t typically get a lot of wind, being protected by the trees among which it grows.

That said, if the leaves aren’t bruising or breaking, it’s probably fine.
