Do you get in bed for the night like this?

Asked by Aster (20023points) May 3rd, 2011

I saw an ancient Marilyn Monroe movie. She was getting in bed. The housekeeper turned back the covers just on one side so that the bed would not have to be “made” the next morning. In other words, less than half the bed got messed up when she slept.
Does anyone else sleep on just one side of their bed to cut down on housekeeping chores? lol

I sleep on one side of my bed, but it has nothing to do with reducing the amount of bed making work (besides which I never make my bed, anyway). For years I had a twin bed, and I have never quite adjusted to having more room in which to sleep…

Yes, but not just so I won’t have a lot to make up in the morning. I tend to just sleep on the right side of the bed (when facing it head on, but left if I’m in it). I don’t know anyone who sleeps in the middle and utilizes the whole bed

When I sleep alone, I sleep in the middle of our queen sized bed. I toss and turn a lot in my sleep, so it wouldn’t matter even if I tried to only sleep on one side of the bed because the covers would all be messed up by morning.

I make my side of the bed when I get up and it like no one slept there.

No I don’t, I use a small “trampette” & somersault into the arms of my beloved! Whay hey, she cries, as I wrap my legs around the ceiling fan XD

Look out!! The whole bed is mine. The morning covers look like a wrestling match occured overnight.

I allow my wife 1/10th of the bed for herself.

When my husband is gone for months at a time, he has to fight to reclaim his half of the bed because I end up using the whole thing. I say, “Well, at least you know, I was sleeping alone while you were gone:-P”

According to my wife, I hover 6” above the mattress and spin.

I like to make my bed like a girly girl, lots of colorful pillows and coverings.
I often lie down on the left side of my bed because I can reach down and operate my portable CD player underneath one of the end tables. Once I get the music and volume and/or track I want, on either a music or inspirational CD, I then navigate smack to the middle, sprawl out and bliss out into sleep.

I bought a top o’ the line memory foam bed a few years ago, it is one of the great joys in my life. lol

Being single for some time now it would be very hard to adjust to another body in my bed, I was joking yesterday that my memory foam has no male memory imprint. hahaha

I sleep in the middle of the bed when I sleep alone. In my pillow fort. :D

No way, my duvet and I are all over the places but seeing as I make my own bed in the morning I am not putting anyone out but myself!

@creative1 he knows it; he’s used to it!!

I sleep on top of my covers so I don’t have to make it!

I watch tv and fluther on the right side where the dresser is to hold my wine, and go to sleep on the left side under the window. I also build a pillow fort for sleeping.
