Does Amazon.com show your information?

Asked by pcmonkey (427points) May 9th, 2011

When you sign up to sell things on amazon you have to put your credit card number, phone number, etc. Does amazon give this info away to buyers of your product? Or do they do anything with it?

I didn’t have to put my credit card number (I’m pretty sure). I had to put my bank account number so they could make direct deposits of payments to my account. This is the same information that anyone I write a check to will see.

As a customer of Amazon Marketplace, I just see a seller’s name in the confirmation message and then whatever information a seller includes in a packing slip or a return address. That’s it.
