At what point did you officially become a Jelly?

Asked by Cruiser (40449points) May 28th, 2011

At Answer Bag I was never a “bag” and other forums I never took on a an icon identification but here a Fluther I have to admit I became a Jelly. When and at what moment did you get Jellified?

For me it was either after my 20th modding or when I hit 5K…what was your defining Jelly moment?

The first time someone PM’d me a thank you for an answer that they said helped them.

Someone welcomed me in a PM after my very first answer on my first day here. That’s when I got my bona fides, I reckon.

When someone PM’d me to give me some advice.
When I started getting GA’s.
I really felt like the big cheese when I hit 5K. So many well wishers made my head swell.
@Cruiser, I thought I was the only one modded 20 times. I actually thought it was a ploy to get rid of me:D

When other Jellies referred to me as being a Jelly.
When i was thrown a 10K party i definitely felt a Jelly.

My first experience here was posting a question looking for some assistance and recommendations.
The feeling of community came through in swift caring replies.
PM’s stating I gave a GA and feeling I helped really JELLIFIED me.

@AmWiser That was my “first” 20 moddings….we should have a “been modded” counter in our profile! Mine would need at least 4 digits! ;)

Oh Jeez, it’s been sooo long. I must be a Jelly ‘cause jam don’t shake like this.

I am like you.
It was around the time when I had gotten modded once again and realized that there was a certain protocol and that was required on Fluther.
At that point it was either go along to get along, or move along. I chose the former, and that is when I became an institutional Jelly.
Plus the 5K mark seemed important as well.

When JackAdams first trounced me. An old user that old timers remember.

@chyna: By then I considered myself a seasoned jelly. But you’re right; it was one of the initiation rites.

Also finding myself in @Hossman’s crosshairs.

After such a warm welcome into Campfire along with a few other ex wis.dm people, probably just a few days. I remember our former @boots posting a link in our dying wis.dm about fluther so I couldn’t resist to check it out. No regrets.

The first time I got invited to storm the CIA thread by @Nimis.

or maybe the first time i got in to a heated debate with @gailcalled. they both happened around the same time.

When I got 82 lurve for my answer to this question.

I still think that’s a record.

I’m not really sure. I guess when somethings in my life changed and I quit being such a pissy bitch about getting modded. Don’t get me wrong- I’m still a pissy bitch. Just not about getting modded… :P

If you mean this semiliterally, I was here for three or four months before I applied the term “jelly” to myself. I thought it was pretty silly and resisted it, but it finally found a fit. I still squirm a little, but not much.

However, I felt at home within a couple of days, and I believe there’s been only one day in all this time, maybe two, that I didn’t collect my daily point for signing in.

I came here after having several years experience in Q & A so the first thing I did was read all the information available at the bottom of the page, and ask about the so-called memes. I felt right at home from the very start.

After the amazing responses I got to maybe my third question (about my father dying).

The warmth and sense of community was staggering.

Jelly for life.

Very early on I posted something really intense and a bunch of people PMed me with lovely appreciation for what I’d shared. I was a bit surprised that they were so surprised that I’d be so open about it, and realized that I felt so at home here that it hadn’t occurred to me to hold back.

When I felt very active here.

Must have been when the first other jelly called me a jelly.

I think I felt like I was a part of this site after I got my first few PM’s. Other than that, I really felt at home when I noticed a few people who seemed to answer my questions regularly. Though I’m still not entirely sure I’m an official Jelly yet :I

augustlan's avatar

I felt at home here from the minute I got here, really. As to when I became a jelly, I can’t remember. At all. Weird. I think I was just… assimilated, and didn’t even realize it until after the deed was done. Insidious! @Joker94 Oh, you’re a jelly. :)

OpryLeigh's avatar

The day after I joined because that meant I liked it enough to come back ( I have “joined” many sites that I haven’t returned to after the initial introduction).

wilma's avatar

I think after a PM or two and then for sure when I hit 5000 lurve.

Joker94's avatar

@augustlan Thanks auggie :) I looooves you, gurl!
