Yep, i did read it, after i tried to read books written by philosophers which proved to be too difficult for me, and it is a good story to begin to understand it.
If i recollect correct it was written for youth, not sure though.
There is also a movie made of the book.

It was ok. I know this one girl who absolutely loved it though.
I don’t think it’s the greatest foray into philosophy.

It’s a good read. The style is breezy and a little silly, because Sophie experiences all the philosophies as a way to learn about them. She wears rose-colored glasses to learn about romanticism, things like that. It’s a very accessible way to learn the basics of philosophy for the first time.

I’ve read it. It’s actually one of my favourite books. Excellent read if you want to delve into the basics of philosophy.

Jostein Gaarder is one of my favourite writers. :)

Yea do read it.. It’s pretty interesting, It’s definitely a fun introduction to philosophy, The storyline is a bit crazy and difficult to follow near the end but it’s part of the fun.

Both my daughters read it, and The Solitaire Mystery in middle school, and then again in high school. It makes a great summer read.

I thought it was a great Novel, I’ve read it several times and with its approach it probably is a very decent way to begin to understand the broad spectrum of fillupSophie, I mean philosophy.

I read it a few years ago before I ever took any philosophy classes. It was a pretty good read, though it seems to have a weird recurring boner for the UN for some reason.
