I doubt they have one, beyond business as usual.

Primary Objective: Prevent progressives from taking over the party despite the voter base overwhelmingly supporting progressive policies. Insincerely campaign on progressive polices with zero intention of actually trying to pass them. Prevent 3rd parties from challenging them from the left at all costs. The DNC is paid by corporate interests to act as the leftward firewall and prevent the kinds of labor-based policies that one would expect to see in an economy where the wealth of the American middle class is being transferred into the top 0.1%. at unprecedented levels.

Secondary Objective: Defeat Republicans.

Tertiary Objective: Ensure the Democrats never achieve a supermajority. The goal is stalemate, and political apathy among the voter base not political domination electorally which would unmask their insincerity with their progressive campaigning.

The Democratic Party is certainly open to a lot of criticism but they have done much good in pulling us through the pandemic and lessening the harm it did to ordinary people with the supplemental checks, free vaccine programs, child care supplements, etc. Bills like the Infrastructure Act and programs like the ACA have certainly brought about some progress. There are some excellent progressive Senators working for greater economic equality although I agree there is much to be done in that area. I’d take senators like Jeff Merkley, Sherrod Brown and Chris Murphy over Repubs any day of the week. I would not tar them all with the same brush and while the party is certainly not perfect, I’ll tell them over the Republicans any day of the week.

From Heather Coxe Richardson:

“When they took office, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris rejected “supply side” economics and vowed to restore buying power to the demand side of the economy: ordinary Americans. They invested in manufacturing, infrastructure, small businesses, and workers’ rights. And now, after years in which pundits said their policies would never work, the numbers are in. The U.S. economy is very strong indeed, and at least some voters who have backed Republicans for a generation are noticing, as United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain made clear yesterday when the union made a strong and early endorsement of President Biden.

So here is the political story: Republicans cannot run for office in 2024 by attacking the economy, although Trump has tested that message by saying the economy is “so fragile” and “running off the fumes” of his administration and that it will soon crash. He has promised to cut taxes again, which is not likely to impress many voters these days. Media stories are beginning to reflect the reality of the economy, and people are starting to realize that it is strong.

At the same time, the Republicans are in huge trouble over their overturning of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision recognizing the constitutional right to abortion. A poll taken in June 2023, a year after the Supreme Court overturned Roe, showed that 69% of Americans want to see Roe reinstated. But, to appeal to their base, Republican leaders are backing more, rather than less, extreme measures: a federal prohibition of abortion.”

I think the current agenda is restore maternal healthcare and abortion rights to women.

Put some brakes on loans to prevent more escalation of housing prices, although this is leveling off.

Improve and make more accessible public education K-12 and post secondary. I personally worry they are doing this without enough thought to the money.

Still focused on climate change, but I’m not sure how much.

There is not an agenda, only an alignment of certain special interest and fringe groups that vote along these lines to further their own agenda. These groups tolerate each other more than they should.
