How does fluther.com differentiate itself from other ask/answer sites?

Asked by zzztimbo (61points) June 15th, 2007

I think answers.yahoo.com is full of imbeciles and AskMeFi is pretty darn good. How does fluther.com compare with the others?

We're much more along the lines of AskMeFi -- without the circa '94 web design hardcore edge (though we love them). Although our collective is smaller, they're quite smart.

We also filter questions to you and provide notification. And if someone replies to you while you're in the discussion, you can have instant follow-up. http://www.fluther.com/whatisfluther/

Plus, unlike AskMeFi, there is no joining fee or waiting period. (Again, we do love them).

To me fluther is comparable to asking the guy in the next office over if he knows the answer to something. Whereas some of those other sites feel like putting a message in a bottle and tossing it off the edge of the world hoping for some random spacecraft to intersect it.

Maybe thats just me.
