How often will fluther alert me about new activity?

I noticed once that flutherbot Im'd me to tell me I had new activity. However I have also noticed that a lot of times when I log in I have new activity. Is this because I check fluther too often or do I have it configured wrong?

Flutherbot is a bit fickle nowadays -- mostly due to AIM's apis. We're working on making it more stable.

Right now, to prevent Fluther from feeling spammy, we only send out nofitications the first time you get a response to your question.
