Was this guy right for being angry?

Asked by Eggie (5921points) August 17th, 2011

I was in a taxi, and I saw a girl got in the front seat with the driver. They gave a kiss which showed that they were in a relationship. I then saw the guy take the girls cell phone, looked at it and then got really angry….yelled something and slammed the phone on the floor. It had some loud music in the car so I could not hear what they were saying My guess is that he probably saw a text that pointed that the girl was cheating on him. My question is do you think that the guy was wrong for looking into her cell phone in the first place? Wasn’t that kind of nosy?

If he is checking her phone, odds are he will react that way to things far less severe than cheating. It could have been a million and one insignificant things. Yea, it’s wrong to check peoples phones.

Well, it so happens that guy was me who threw my gf’s cell on the floor! Wow, you saw me huh? True, I was wrong to snoop on her cellphone but a Twitter feed said Palin to run for president! C’mon!

LOL.

Yes, he was right for being angry, because she’s leaving him for me.

Why did he instinctively check her phone? It probably wasn’t the first time he’s seen things that bothered him there. It might have been something else that bugged him, like one of her irresponsible girlfriends who likes to do drugs was setting up a time to get high or a 101 other things.

Next question is, if she was aware of his looking why did she not delete all stuff before? Jees, that’s just common sense. I hope I don’t have to witness such drama for a cab ride.

They both were wrong for mixing personal business in front of a paying customer! I hope you didn’t tip him! ;)

The only assumption I would make after witnessing that, based on the description given, would be that he has some anger management issues. Had I been there, her reaction and other visual cues might have caused me to think more of it.

If he did find out she was cheating, I would say he was justified in being angry whether he was nosy or not. Would it be nosy if she doesn’t mind him looking? Maybe she looks at his, too. Could be the accepted norm for their relationship. A lot of couples share email accounts.
