Fake, small tree. Finally.
Buying and wrapping presents.
Eating honey baked ham.
Seeing my grandson , I hope! and making his Christmas fun, warm and cozy for him. Without us, it would be just another bummer of a holiday for him.
Opening my gifts; the least important part.
Eating ham? with my daughter and her two kids.

Bored to death. I was just asking a friend if Memphis has any “Matzah Ball” of some sort? Some restaurant or club that is open for Christmas Eve.

I will make a nice dinner for my husband, with some of his mom’s Christmas dishes.

We will buy a real tree in the middle of December.

Christmas Eve will be a baked ham dinner with Egg Nog and pies for dessert, us & kids.

Christmas morning is breakfast with my in-laws and hubby’s kids.

Christmas Dinner will be just the two of us so… candles & romance!

-put up tree, real because I live in the woods, I literally got it from my front yard.
-go put up with massive family in Long Island ghetto.
-drink Puerto Rican eggnog, no rum in it for us cousins.
-probobly get girly clothes and jewelery from family members who don’t understand I hate that stuff. Get money from the ones who actually know me.
-sleep alot and start studying. Janurary is mid-terms.

Watch Christmas movies all day, whilst eating chicken sandwiches and chocolate.
And crying after the snowman melts in The Snowman…

@MilkyWay The Snowman gets me every time.

Possibly some reluctant christmasy festivities with family. Sitting at the table for too long and then opening gifts. bleh

Don’t think there’ll be a tree this year. It’s going to be more of a break than anything else. If there’s a tree, it’ll be a fake one. Loads of good movies to be watched. Loads of good food to be eaten. Loads of fine wine to be consumed.

Find a tree and tag it in November
Do a little crazy shopping on Black Firday weekend
Cut it and take it home first week of December
Decorated already
Lights on House
Gifts pretty much done and or shipped
Cards out
Making cookies the next 2 weeks
Christmas eve parties next 2 weeks
Take Daughter to Nutcracker next weekend
Christmas eve at various friends houses
Midnight Mass
Enjoy Christmas morning with daughter
Quiet Christmas day .

“And crying after the snowman melts in The Snowman…”

Hopefully there will be a sequel where the Snowpeople Rescue Group finds a nice, comfy meat locker for the snowdude. ;-)

—Real tree is up and decorated and smelling good!
—We’re shopping for kids and family
—Santa is shopping for the kids
—Make candies for kids’ teachers and family gift baskets
—Christmas Eve lunch with mother-in-law’s family, gift exchange, tons of fun!
—Christmas morning: opening presents with the kids
—Host a special breakfast with the in-laws
—Drive to my husband’s cousin’s house fr Big Fat Italian Christmas dinner
—Eat mountains of incredible food, drink too much, love watching the kids get to spend the holiday with their cousins
—Stay up late playing poker and/or pool with the cousins. Spend the night.
—Wake up, have breakfast with the relatives, drive home.
—Spend hours assembling toys, putting things away, cleaning up.
—Collapse in happy exhaustion.

Other than a real tree, lights and decorations, I have no idea.

Things will be very different this year, so… no idea.

Arguing with my Adult grandsons about getting the decorations and tree out of the shed, then more arguing about how to test the strings.
Going in the house and arguing with my preschool Grandsons about keeping their hands off the Christmas Village.
Wondering what I’m going to do with all the decorations spread all over my bed If I don’t finish tonight.
Cleaning up the glass light bulbs that came out of storage broken.
Heating up last mights dinner when everyone starts asking when dinner will be ready.
Going out in the freezing night to buy some glitter pens for the preschool grandsons when the ones in storage came out hard as a rock.
Spreading plastic so they can color the ornaments we printed off the computer.
Picking everything up a few minutes later, when they lose interest and go to their room to play with their cars.
Moving all the boxes and stuff out of the hall to put up the fake tree.

Edit to add: going out to look at the beautiful lights the older boys have put up.

This agnostic just bought a tree for two bucks and tried to put it in a fishtank and put some lights on it. The results are spectacular.

My tree is trimmed, my villages are displayed, the house is decorated inside and out. Even my bathrooms are decorated. This is the first Christmas in a very, very long time I’m actually not just going through the motions and I’m really feeling the Christmas spirit. It feels good.

I baked gingersnap cookies today and went to a party at the pool tonight with friends. My daughter is coming to spend next weekend with us. We are going to head north just before Christmas. If the good Lord is willing, we’ll spend a day and night with my 92 year old father and then head to Maryland to visit our 2 year old granddaughter and my two stepdaughters and their families.

We will go to our granddaughter’s house on Christmas morning in time to see her get out of bed and see the magic of Christmas in her face. Then back home! Woo hoo!! Merry Christmas.

It’s not going to happen..but when we visit Alex’s parents in Illinois a bit after Christmas, it’ll kind of happen then.

I’m done with almost all my gift shopping, still need to decorate some.
I decorate later, around the 15th and leave things up through the new year.
Dinner here with kids and friends dropping by, gifts, food, more food, fun, done!
My birthday is the day after Christmas but I am celebrating it on the 28th. :-)

bkcunningham's avatar

Well, just in case I’m traveling and don’t get an opportunity to tell you @Coloma, Happy Birthday Baby!! Woo hoo. I sure hope it is an amazing day for you!

I just sort of stumble through, get stuff done as I think of it. Leg lamp light string already up, tree up this week, shopping, making, wrapping, etc barely done by Christmas Eve, friends over for traditional since last year Mac and Cheese Christmas dinner around the coffee table.

OpryLeigh's avatar

No christmas tree or decorations (can’t be bothered with all that)
Buying presents but only for those closest to me
Midnight mass (this gives me a sense of calm during an otherwise stressful time)
I’ll spend the majority of Christmas day with my mum’s side of the family
Christmas lunch made by Nan

I’ll have to fit in some Muppets Christmas Carol time somewhere in all that too!

Christmas tree and decorations are up and all cheery.
Lights outside are up and burning bright so Santa can find us.
Stockings up. Even the ones for the stuffed friends and the dog that doesn’t live with us. lol We are a family of 4 (my 3 boys and I) and we have eight stockings!
Christmas cards will go out this week.
Friday we will drive 4–5 hrs and Christmas Eve will be at my sister’s house. We always decorate cookies, watch football and “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
Then on Christmas day I will drive home alone and spend the day/night by myself.

Finished my decorating and wrapping last night, and had “help” from the new cat.
Nothing like the cats cradle of ribbon entanglement. haha
Well, my “tree” is a tall asian design lamp on a low slung oriental table on a pedestal with a faux red tinsel hoop skirt tree shade.
It is illuminated by a red light bulb, decorated with clusters of gold berries and surrounded by red lights, with a backdrop of a black and gold, teak wood, asian screen.

On top of the screen is a big cluster of light up red plum blossoms fanned out with stained glass ornaments and asian tassles.
Next to it is a 4 ft. candle pedestal with a huge amber crystal ball on top and I hung my daughters stocking from that, with her boyfriends on the edge of the shinto screen.
The gifts are propped up around and on the table and the effect is quite charming.
The sides of the table are flanked with two large lion statues carved in a dark wood with each ones paw on top of a globe of the earth.

I like to decorate in a creative and unconventional way and this years temple christmas alter turned out really cool. :-D
