I would not dress for a game with shorts. I can’t imagine sliding in them.

I agree with @YARNLADY & @Adirondackwannabe. I had friends with massive cuts & bruises from sliding and from cleats. No matter what you decide, protect your legs. Pull your socks all the way up, no matter what your friends are doing or what they think of your choices.

Find a photo of a lesbian that looks like Justin Bieber…then, dress like that and carry a glove with you at all times.

Depends on if it’s a game between formal teams, where players wear a uniform; or if it’s a pick-up game like at a picnic. For an informal game, jeans, a t-shirt, sneakers and a baseball cap (Any or no team insignia) will do. Carry a mitt for a prop, if you can find one. Chew bubble gum and spit a lot.

@Adirondackwannabe It’s not usually an option, when I played we had to wear shorts. We wore sliding shorts too but YUGH. It was still shitty to slide in them. Lots of gnarly cuts and scrapes.
