What is the correct way to describe this type of physical/sports training?

I’m looking for correct biomechanics, cognitive science, neuroscience, or kinesiology terminology to describe the effect achieved by restraining an athlete and then releasing the restraint. For example, long jumpers often train with people providing resistance by pulling them backwards using bungee cords as they’re trying to jump. Or athletes sometimes wear ankle weights in training and remove them for games with a rebound effect of improved performance. What is the correct way to describe this type of training and the resulting performance improvement?

It sounds like resistance training to me.
