When I boot my notebook the msg appears with all the other startup apps,I have windows XP pro .When I click OK on the Msg it disappears and every thing else works OK..
I have System Mechanic but a complete analysis comes up with nothing.

I think I'm going to second zeroks answer, but with some more details.

What kind of computer is it? Do you shut down normally? What does the error say exactly (best way to get this is just a piece of paper and a pencil)? And does it come up every time, or just randomly?

Kind of sounds like you have a corrupted startup program.

My computer is an ASUS S6F notebook.I shut down normally, it happens everytime I start up.
The Msg reads ASSERT ERROR
CCxFile::Seek:Not create file.
OK. When I click OK it goes away and the computer operates normally. Asus Tech says not anything they have heard of and it may be 1.Virus,2.App error.There is no virus on my machine and all apps work normally.
Appreciate any help or comments.

Since it only happens on startup, what do you have in your startup list? Very wild guess ahead ........ while googling a little bit around a library that is used by some Xbox interconnectvity tools popped up. Do you perhaps have something like that installed?

Let’s not hijack this thread, and instead return to the question at hand. @Armynew, I have pretty much the same thing, and I’m also using an ASUS notebook. This one is in the F3T series. That makes me think we’re simply seeing a popup that’s disgruntled because we’ve (purposely) turned off some ASUS bloatware of some kind.

It also looks like an ASUS comment because of its broken English, which shows up a lot in ASUS, together with its lack of properly helpful direction, which again is typical of ASUS. My exact message reads, under ASSERT ERROR:

CCxFile::Seek: Not create file!
[OK]

I’m just going to look for some ASUS junk that I’ve disabled. No worries. It’s a very good computer, and I like ASUS, but somebody working for ASUS doesn’t give a damn about public relations or the source of his bread and butter.

its to do with the asus netswitch software as far as i can tell its only app i disabled ass it was annoying me when setting up media center – easiest fix if you have uninstalled any of these apps load them from your asus recovery cd if disabled just restart in msconfig.
I will try using something like autoruns to disable it from even starting any components that way it wont come up with an error hopefully.
