@Arewethereyet, Pepper’s photo isn’t working. The other two are working and are beautiful animals. What is Teddy, I mean besides absolutley beautiful?

@AshLeigh, you and your kitty are really gorgeous. You are gorgeous and the kitty is cute would be more accurate. I’m glad you have a cat. It is a lot of love wrapped up in that fur ball.

ETpro's avatar

For those who haven’t already done so, meet Spoony THE Cat, AKA The Great Spoon because she’s always asking to be spoon fed more canned tuna. She’s a bit disheveled looking here, being as she’s in the midst of one of her vigorous workouts.

bkcunningham's avatar

Spoony is very, very beautiful, @ETpro. BTW, I use to have a clothes hanger like the one Spoony is resting upon.

ETpro's avatar

@bkcunningham Ha! It does do great double duty as a hanger, doesn’t it. My owner says thanks for recognizing her superior beauty. :-)

Arewethereyet's avatar

I’ll try again this is Pepper

And teddy is a Maltese Pomeranian cross everyone thinks he’s a girl cos he is so pretty.
@ETpro looks like she owns the place
@AshLeigh cyanide and you look gorgeous :)

bkcunningham's avatar

OMG, I’m glad I asked you to repost that one of Pepper. A real attitude from a unbelievably beautiful cat.

I’m jealous guys. Enjoying the photos, but envious of your beautiful companions. It is a lot of work having a pet and I’m really happy for you all and miss having a pet. One day I will have another one though, good Lord willing and the creeks don’t rise.

rooeytoo's avatar

The dingo when she graduated from obedience school. The rest to follow later.

ETpro's avatar

@Arewethereyet Pepper is a total darling. And Teddy is so beautiful, who cares what gender that is?

Spoony clearly thinks that she owns the place. She just graciously allows me to go on paying for it.

ETpro's avatar

@gailcalled Aw… Bless my sole, what a cutie.

gailcalled's avatar

Milo here: I’d write Spoony’s name in ink on my dance card, but Gail says that she would’t like to bump into her in a deserted spot on a dark night.

AshLeigh's avatar

Aww, thanks guys. :) He’s my sweet handsome prince :D

Arewethereyet's avatar

@gailcalled now I’m weeping with happiness Milo looks so stylish in (is it?) his yarmulke

Arewethereyet's avatar

@rooetyoo I love your little brown dog and who old is your cocky?

Berserker's avatar

I have two, Satan and Catastrophe. And here’s Satan on his own. Got more pictures of them, plus some of my older cat Cauchemar who died, and my turtle I had years ago. I’ll gladly post more when I find out where the hell they are on this computer. actually kinda pissin me off at the mo
These two pics are actually pretty dated, but the cats haven’t changed much. :D

Arewethereyet's avatar

@Symbeline very handsome black cats you have there Satan is such a cool name we call our black cat pussy willow AKA devils spawn Hahaha

rooeytoo's avatar

My little brown dog is almost 14 and the cocky is about 5 or 6. He was being neglected and perhaps abused so we adopted him. We have only had him a couple of months. He is slowly coming around. He is banded so was domestically bred.

bookish1's avatar

History is likely to be my only significant other for a while…

ucme's avatar

<<<<< There’s my dawg Penny.

rooeytoo's avatar

The furry flutherers are a good looking mob!

Arewethereyet's avatar

Aw @bookish1 now despite that being a very errr interesting read its a but sad there is not a ball of fluff in your life :/

Arewethereyet's avatar

Your right @rooeytoo hope I got the spelling right this time, a very cute bunch of companion flutherites. And @ucme pommy Penny is a bit of a looker too:)

ucme's avatar

@Arewethereyet Yeah, she gets admiring glances/comments whenever she’s out, she’s so adorable & has a fantastic nature about her, so loving & friendly.

Arewethereyet's avatar

@ucme I love dogs they don’t give a shit what you wear, how much you weigh, what work you do how much money you have… As long as there is a big cuddle, plenty of food and a place for them in the pack they are happy with you… And even better the smellier you are the more they like you LOL and they bring out the best in us too (well mostly)

Arewethereyet's avatar

@bkcunningham I do hope too that you will be able to enjoy the absolute pleasure of a companion animal again. My mum has had to go into care and the biggest change for her is she is not well enough to care for an animal herself and she just pines constantly poor darling. Teddy though is a very regular visitor he doesn’t go on lead he just does the rounds of the nursing home everyone loves him and my mum is so proud to say he is part of her family :)

Mariah's avatar

Well she’s not with us anymore, but I assembled an album of photos of my dear kitty Chloe awhile back.

In it you can also see her brother Zip, who is still around and who I also love very much. We don’t quite have that same connection that Chloe and I had, but he’s a sweetiepie. I miss them both terribly, but I get to see Zip soon when I get home from college.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@Symbeline I thought who names a cat Satan until I opened the pic. That fits perfectly to that cat.

thorninmud's avatar

I just buried this little friend this morning. Not a neuron to his name, bless his heart, but a true sweetie.

For the first time in 30 years, we’re down to just humans. That’s hard to fathom. But we have lots of construction and travel looming on the horizon, so it’s probably for the best.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@thorninmud He was a beauty. I’m sorry for your loss. That always hurts.

gailcalled's avatar

MIlo here: I love this thread. I also love getting a peek at some of the humans connected to us.

Blue and I are old friends but it is always fun to meet the new kids on the block.

@thorninmud ; We’ll say Kaddish for him if you like.

(I am particularly fond of the name Cauchemar.)

thorninmud's avatar

@gailcalled That would be lovely, thank you! His name was Ryan.

Dutchess_III's avatar

That’s going to be a beautiful cat when he/she grows up @jonsblond!

bookish1's avatar

@Arewethereyet : Hey, I was just answering the question. You told me to show you my non-human S.O. :-p
We’re having a fight right now. I hope the bitch will just let me go to sleep soon.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Here is my Milo as a baby. And playing foosball (he was my point guard). And being Garfield

This is Kizzy who is now gone. Just never came home one day. :( And this is Kizzy as Satan: This is Kizzy baking with flour. And one of Kizzy’s kids

Here is my beautiful Dakota. Dakota babysitting my son’s dog. Dakota just being pretty. Dakota and my husband after Dakota got an owie. Dakota and me during my husband’s and my honeymoon. Dakota babysitting one of the grandkids. And here. And here. And here. And here. Dakota being so very, very patient Dakota getting tired of having her picture taken (She would NOT turn around!)

This is Dutchess when she was a baby. Dakota meeting Dutchess for the first time. Here is Dakota babysitting Dutchess. Dutches being a Hula Girl

My husbands lion, Bear who he doesn’t have any more. Bear

My Son being a nut case (Just thought I ‘d throw that in. :)

And, Smokie’s grave. She was 15. I don’t have a picture of her on Photobucket though

bkcunningham's avatar

@thorninmud, I know you’ll miss him. I am sorry for your grief. I’m sure you gave him a wonderful life, as he gave happiness to yours as well.

Arewethereyet's avatar

Wow guys thank you so much I have the biggest smile on my face enjoying all of your friends with us it’s so beautiful to see.

@thorninmud so sad you had to say goodbye to little Ryan I hope your time with him has left you with great memories.

@Mama Cakes Blue is adorable thank you for putting him up for us to see.

@Mariah your collection of photos with you and Chloe were really moving especially the last one I got misty eyed really beautiful.

@jonsblond wow Rigby is a stunner supermodel cat:) cute name too.

@Dutchess III whew superb collection Kizzy, Dakota, Smokie and…. Bear a lion! How on earth do you get to have a lion in you home? Impressive. What happened to him?
And your son’s pic haha he’s ready for the invasion :)

bkcunningham's avatar

Okay. @Dutchess_III. Hello. You can’t just casually throw in a couple of photos of a lion in the midst of those beautiful pets without an explanation.

bkcunningham's avatar

I love your kitty, @jonsblond. I love cats but my husband hates them. I am debating about adding having a cat to my reverse bucket list. I haven’t given up hope though. I’m pretty good at getting my way. Patience. Hmm, do you know where I can find a lion.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@bkcunningham Here’s a hint for handling us guys. Look us in the eyes, tell us you love us, and look sad and say please. Good guys melt immediately.

Arewethereyet's avatar

@bkcunningham my husband didn’t like cats either I told him they were a low maintenance pet and the kids needed to grow up with animals so I got pussywillow who hated the kids. Lol.
She’s very quiet and ended up living with my mum where she was happier, she is now back with us the kids are older so she copes better and the cat is madly in love with the husband :) she sleeps with him, follows him everywhere in the garden and even follows him down the road when he walks the dog!

chyna's avatar

<——-Jessie

Arewethereyet's avatar

@chyna what sort of dog is Jessie a boxer? I’m on my phone so can’t see the avatar well

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@Arewethereyet You do realize if I keep on giving up guy secrets the He Man Women Haters Club is going to come for my nads. :)

chyna's avatar

@Arewethereyet Yes, she’s a boxer.

Arewethereyet's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe arrhh rats you’re on to me! How did you find out??? I’m trawling for info about you blokey lot and we also have large jars to add the nads to the collection which is quite impressive already :)

Arewethereyet's avatar

@chyna she’s beautiful I had a boxer when I was a kid she was called Smiley for very obvious reasons!

bkcunningham's avatar

I love that photos, @chyna. Such a sweetheart of a face.

@Adirondackwannabe,thanks for the advise. He’s a pushover, but has an ex that apparently didn’t clean the litter box and allowed the cats to destroy furniture and walk on the counters. We are on the go so much and take off on a whim that it doesn’t seem like the right time to have another pet. I just dont want it to be like waiting for the right time to have children. You know?

Dutchess_III's avatar

LOL! @bkcunningham I was just going thru my photobucket helter skelter and came across the lion in that order, so I posted it! Same with the pic of my son. :)

bkcunningham's avatar

Was that really Rick’s lion?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Yes! I’ll have him come tell you about it….hang on.

bkcunningham's avatar

Fantastic. Hello RIck!

Arewethereyet's avatar

Yes yes please tell us about the lion

Dutchess_III's avatar

This is Rick, and yes I had BIG Kitties. I came across Bear, my cougar at an auction, believe it or not, and he was the best thing that ever happened to me, ( besides my wife, Disclaimer), and found that cougars were a very time consuming habit. I loved him, and found more Big Kitties that were abused, so therefore I had several Big Kitties. I was amazed at the lessons that I learned about them, and that changed my thinking about someone owning a beautiful animal like Bear. It wasn’t fair to the Big Kitty. I had the permits, and jumped through all the hoops to keep him, but still felt guilty. I had the opportunity to own a Bengal tiger, (Tika) and she was awesome. She slept with me and was, at the time, my best friend. She made photo shoots for a sun tanning bed company, and that was an adventure! When I had to move, I contacted a friend in Rogers Arkansas, and told him that I needed a place for my family. He said to contact a person there and he would be able to help me. I did, and took my Big Kitties to Arkansas. They were awesome, and I left them there. They housed unwanted, and abused animals. To me they were a Godsend. I also donated my time for quite a while, to help clean cages, and feed the animals, as well as care for them. I learned a lot having my animals, but most of all they are NOT a play toy!!! They deserve more than being put on display, and I hate it that you could at that time buy one for a little of nothing. These animals were my best friends, but in reality, I couldn’t give them their dignity, and respect. I have the utmost respect for the animal kingdom, and they belong in the wild, NOT in the hands of idiots! As for the lion, (LEO), what a name! He was a handful. He loved to be with me and pester me. I would go outside, and Leo was always behind me. He loved to wrestle, so we would play hide and seek and he would attack me, and the games would begin. I loved my experience with these awesome animals, but the time they needed was more than had to give, but wouldn’t give up one minute that I had with them. I became obsessed with the idea that I could find, and save all the exotic cats, and do my part. Sorry to say, but there are still auctions, and sales networks, that advertise these BEAUTIFUL animals. I was a fortunate person that got to know Tika, Bear, Leo, and June, and learned a lot about nature at it’s best, but no one should be able to OWN one of gods creatures of beauty!!! :D I have more pictures I can share if you’d like.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Who the hell is “June,” Rick? You never mentioned HER before!

Rick didn’t mention the time he was rushing Tika to the specialized vet in OK City, and got stopped for speeding. Well, the troopers walked up to the door, asked Rick if he knew how fast he was going. Rick said, “Look in the back seat.” There’s a Bengal Tiger stretched out, asleep on the back seat. Trooper said, “WTF!!!” Rick didn’t get a speeding ticket, but he DID get an escort.

bkcunningham's avatar

Post them, please, Rick. What an amazing life. Thank you for taking the time to share. Absolutely amazing. You sound like a wise person. You’ve got a pretty amazing wife too. We love her here. BK

Arewethereyet's avatar

@Dutchess lll Aaawww Rick sensational Wow what a story and what a fortunate man you are to have had such an awesome experience.

Dutchess_III's avatar

:) Now he’s telling stories non-stop. Long story short…he rescued those guys…..one of my favorite stories is he went on a date with a girl who turned out to be arrogant. “Oh, I love big cats and I’m so good with them!” He didn’t like her much because she was full of BS, talking about how good she was with the Big Cats. He asked her if she wanted to meet one.
“Of course!” She said. So..he took her home. Bear used to hide around the corner of the kitchen island and jump on him when he got home. He sent that girl in the house in front of him…and she got tackled by a cougar! She didn’t come back no more, no more, no more, no more! I told him that was an asshole thing to do, btw.
I honestly don’t know how I would handle it if he came home today with a big cat. Not good, I think. Dakota was the last Wild Animal he surprised me with.

Yes, he has an amazing wife.

Arewethereyet's avatar

Haha re the old girlfriend good on you Rick

bkcunningham's avatar

Tell him to post more photos, @Dutchess_III.

I am going to look my husband in the eyes, tell him I love him, look all sad and say, “Dutchess’ husband had a lion, I don’t see what one itty bitty puddy tat would hurt.”

Dutchess_III's avatar

@Arewethereyet This is Rick, I never had too many girl friends after that!! Oh well, at that time my time was spent feeding, and caring for my buddies. They were like family. It is amazing what you can learn from them.

Dutchess_III's avatar

@bkcunningham This is Rick. PLEASE let her have an itty bitty pussy cat, or I will send the TIGER on you!!!! :D The itty bitty kitty is cheaper to feed———————

Dutchess_III's avatar

Honey. Please make your own account! I introduced you to Wis.dm, Facebook, and now, here we are on Fluther, MmmmKay?

Arewethereyet's avatar

Hi Rick sounds like your time was far better spent with the big fluffy ones than the girlfriends and you seem to have got the pick of the litter in the end as well with Dutchess :)

bkcunningham's avatar

LOL Thank you, Rick. Oh, your comment about feeding the tiger reminded me of something. Years ago, I had to go to a guy’s house to pick up two deers that my then-husband had sent to be processed. I’d never seen anything like it. That’s another story. They had a legal processing factory going on in their garage. Man, wife, brother and sister-in-law. I opened the door and instantly turned my back so I was looking outside and told them what I was there to pickup.

Anyway, one of the wives laughed and understood my dilemma. She held onto me as I turned green and got my composure, apologized and started asking what in the name of God they did with all the pieces and parts they didn’t use. There were deer everywhere. It was worse than any horror movie you can imagine. Deer hanging from the ceiling with no fur, deer heads, deer legs, horns, the smell, the smell, the smell….

The house was right in the middle of town! I didn’t think they put the pieces and parts in the garbage. You know? Come to find out, they gave them to a doctor who had moved to God’s country. He had a couple of lions on his place out in the valley and these people who processed deer during deer season for extra money, sent the bones and other things I don’t want to think about to this man to feed his cats.

bkcunningham's avatar

Proud Mary, keep on rolling!! Rick, that isn’t the proper way to wear a rubber.

Dutchess_III's avatar

@bkcunningham When I had my cat, the sheriffs dept. had my phone number, and when they had a deer (bless their hearts) call, they would call me and I would go get the deer and that was dinner for a few days for my cats. It wasn’t the best, but the feed bill was enormous other wise.

Arewethereyet's avatar

What a great relationship

Dutchess_III's avatar

YOU SHOT DEER????? Good God Rick! That is terrible. I never knew a Rick in MY HOUSE who would shoot a deer. Make you own account. Pfffftt.

Dutchess_III's avatar

And @bkcunningham He wore a rubber. But it was a Good Year rubber and it kinda wore off. All the peel out’s n stuff. Glad I met him in my older years,

bkcunningham's avatar

I thought he meant if someone had killed one with a car or illegally or whatnot, @Dutchess_III. Not that they had one cornered and called Rick to shoot it dead.

bkcunningham's avatar

Sorry to highjack the thread, but it was interesting and really fun.

jonsblond's avatar

Thank you all for the Rigby love. He is a looker. :)

Dutchess_III's avatar

@Dutchess_III I did not SHOOOOOOOOT a deer. It was a road kill, and they called me because they knew I would take the carassssssss for my cats, Dearasst one.

bkcunningham's avatar

We understand, RIck. God bless you. lol

Dutchess_III's avatar

@bkcunningham I did not hijack the thread. Rick did. Just like he hijacked my life! Have I mentioned he’s a salesman?

OK, Rick. But don’t EVA bring home Fresh Killed Deer home for me figure out what to do with AGAIN!. That was your brother, I know…

Rick just wants to “pet ‘it” no matter what it is…he just wants to bring it home and “petit”

Dutchess_III's avatar

—And do not call me “Deerest One” again!

bkcunningham's avatar

I hope Rick isn’t listening. I just wanted to say it is late and I’m tired and a little giddy from having such a nice day today. I want to respond in an inappropriate way about your next to last comment @Dutchess_III. LOL He just wants to “pet it.” I love you. You are so funny.

thorninmud's avatar

@bkcunningham @Arewethereyet Thank you. In his last moments I was less sad than immensely grateful for all those years of love.

Dutchess_III's avatar

LOL! Last night when I told Rick he was wanted on Fluther…well, first he almost jumped out of his skin! “What for??!!” (IE “WHAT HAVE YOU TOLD THEM ABOUT ME?!”) I said, “No, just come see.”
So I showed him the question and he goes “Non-human significant other?! What pictures did you post of me?? You posted that one of me riding the tire at the races, didn’t you!
I said, ‘No, no. Of course not. I wouldn’t embarrass you like that! :)
Interesting aside about that picture…it was taken probably 30 years ago in Wichita in the 70’s. When we owned the mower shop, in a town about 60 miles from Wichita, some guy just walked in one day, in 2004, and just handed that picture, an old Polariod, to me, and walked out. Blew me away!

Arewethereyet's avatar

Dear Dutchess, Rick and BK thank you for a thoroughly entertaining few hours it’s been fun and fascinating and your right Rick was super and should join fluther can his name be@rickhere or lion man?

hearkat's avatar

Thor taken earlier today

Rudy taken last fall.

rooeytoo's avatar

@hearkat – I love the pic of Thor. He is wearing his tuxedo while perusing the cherry blossoms. I would have that one blown up and printed on canvas!!! The ginger cat is cute too, but Thor is my favourite!

Pachy's avatar

Meet Sy, fellow cat lovers.

hearkat's avatar

@rooeytoo – Thor knows he’s cute, but that’s about all he knows – he’s rather airheaded. Rudy is a fluffy butterball with attitude bigger than her belleh.

Dutchess_III's avatar

What LOVELY cats! Milo is feeling a little…dowdy.

bkcunningham's avatar

Beautiful cats, @hearkat and @Pachyderm_In_The_Room. Truly lovely. Is that a cherry tree or a dogwood tree, @rooeytoo? Man, it is a beautiful tree. It looks too big to be either. Hmmm. Hey, Rick. Do you know what kind of tree that is in @hearkat‘s photo of Thor?

hearkat's avatar

@bkcunningham: I have no idea what kind of tree it is, it is just off our deck in our condo complex, and I like it a lot. It is not cherry, and it is smaller than the cherry tree my grandmother had in her yard when I was a child. This tree does have little berries that the birds enjoy into the autumn. The blossoms start out as dark pink buds, then turn white as they open. It is mildly fragrant in bloom and makes me sneeze. There are several photos of it on my Instagram feed.
