Microwaveable White Castle cheeseburgers. How hungry do people have to be to actually eat this?

I do not have a problem with microwaveable burgers. You do not even have to use the microwave, and you can pimp it with salad and other stuff.

What I do find disturbing is the list of ingredients:

Bun: Enriched Bleached Flour , (Wheat Flour , Malted Barley Flour , Niacin , Ferrous Sulfate (Iron) , Thiamine Mononitrate , Riboflavin , Folic Acid) , Corn Syrup , Soybean Oil , Contains 2% or Less of: Yeast , Wheat Gluten , Vegetable Shortening , Cornstarch , Calcium Stearoyl Lactylate , Oat Fiber , Corn Syrup Solids , Diacetyl Tartaric Acid Esters of Mono-Diglycerides , Guar Gum , Monoglycerides) , Calcium Sulfate , Sodium Alginate , Monocalcium Phosphate , Wheat Flour , Ammonium Sulfate , Ascorbic Acid , Potassium Iodate , Azodicarbonamide , Calcium Peroxide , L-Cysteine , Hamburger: Beef , Pasteurized Processed American Cheese: Cultured Milk , Cream , Sodium Citrate , Sorbic Acid , Sodium Phosphate , Artificial Color , Enzymes , Acetic Acid , Soy Lecithin , Water , Dried Onion , Salt , Pepper

Diacetyl Tartaric Acid Eaters of Mono-Diglycerides…sounds like a type of dinosaur to me.

I’ve tried them. I grew up on White Castle, and then moved to a state where White Castle doesn’t exist. We have “Krystal Burger”, which is a poor, paltry substitute. Yuck. When I want to eat fake carcinogenic tiny burgery garbage, I want it to be White Castle, dammit.

So I tried the stuff in the freezer section. Tried them with the oven instructions first. Ended up with soggy buns. Tried the microwave, buns were hard as a rock and the whole thing tasted burnt and rubbery.

I just looked up the menu for Krystal, these look absolutely revolting:

These things are probably for people who couldn’t care less about the texture of their food.

Eewww! White Castle burgers are gross anyway, let alone the microwavable ones. We tried White Castle when we drove through… Missouri, I think? I took one bite and spit it out.

Drunk hungry?

it’s the only kind of hungry that has had me ingesting pistachio ice-cream.

What I’ve noticed about White Castle is that people either love it or hate it. I’ve never heard anybody say, eh, they’re ok,
I’ve got a lot of WC love. They opened one near me a couple years ago. No more driving an hour each way for this girl!

@Blondesjon Isn’t it odd how being drunk will make you eat just about anything? Taco Bell is usually my go-to drunk food.

I don’t think that most people read labels at all, they just eat what they like and/or what is convenient.

I read the labels. Only to see how much fat and how many calories I’m going to hate myself for in the morning. :0)

I lived with a relative before I left and wasn’t supposed to use the kitchen or the fridge. So I’d get them and hide them in their chest freezer in the garage. I’d zoom in the microwave them and eat them in my room. They’re ok.

I’m in California, so I’ll take what I can get.

I visited a white castle in Ohio once, that was the only thing redeeming about that trip.
oh, and Waffle house.

Less vegan wraps and more sliders!

Dutchess_III's avatar

WTH? Why couldn’t you use their kitchen or fridge @trailsillustrated ?

trailsillustrated's avatar

@Dutchess_III it was when I left my husband and had hardly any money, it was with my sister her hubby didn’t like me he was a real wanker. I couldn’t use the rubbish either and if I left beer bottles in the garage I’d come home and find them on my bed. AMUSING.

Katniss's avatar

@trailsillustrated I hope you returned the favor by chucking the bottles at his head?
What an asshole.
We’re you allowed to use the bathroom? Or did you have to provide your own coffee can?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Exactly what I was thinking @Katniss.

Katniss's avatar

@Dutchess_III That is just re-donc-u-lous! I can’t imagine ever treating a guest in my house that way.

Dutchess_III's avatar

It’s unimaginable to me…to even _think_of acting so petty. That….just goes beyond even petty. It’s disgusting. Let’s go beat ‘em up! We ♥ you @trailsillustrated. You can use my bathroom any time.

trailsillustrated's avatar

Ha ha they had a bathroom in the basement and I used that. I tried to not be there as much as I could. I wasn’t a guest, I was an unwanted relative that had nowhere else to go. <3 you too @dutchess
