Can the federal government make charitable contributions?

Can the United States federal government make charitable contributions anymore?
I really tried googling this, but google is not being helpful for once.

I am not sure what you mean. The federal governent does gove money to private charities, is that what you mean? For instance the government gives a lot of money to Bill Gates’ charity.

The government gives grants to charities. They don’t make contributions.

Are you kidding? The Feds are all about charity. It is easy to be charitable with other peoples money. HA!
