Open house down the shore at Sandy Hook National Seashore. Booked the “B Street Band” – a Bruce covers band. Bringing my kids and some friends from the walking group. I’ll provide brownies and premium beer. Care to join me? Or would you like to suggest an alternative location?

The location sounds good to me! I’m bringing my 3 best girlfriends from college. I’ve really been missing them. I’m also bringing a platter of my favorite summer fruits. Watermellon, pineapple, canteloupe and strawberries.
Kielbasa dogs, onion and peppers on a hoagie roll. Tunes sound good.
Napatree point in Rhode Island, but we would have to hike in a couple thousand feet or come by boat.
Can I bring my mother-in-law ? Are there any really high cliffs to explore ??
Song request: 10th Avenue Freeze-out
Down the shore… Don’t tell me, you’re from New Jersey :-p
Sounds great.
I’ll bring this Turkish lentil-bulgur-mint soup that I made yesterday, as well as some tabbouli.
And also my new gentleman friend.
Congrats Bookish! I’ll bring a variety of cold wraps (some vegan!), lots of wine n water, hubs n boyfriends.
Hmmm… perhaps a nice, cold rosé or a case of dry cider.
I don’t care for beer. ;)
I make a nice fruit dip (nearly equal parts marshmallow fluff & cream cheese w/ a dash of vanilla) to go w/ @JLeslie‘s lovely summer fruits – I’ll bring that, some yummy craft brew beers and a homemade sangria.
I’ll also bring along the kids & hubby…and plenty of extra beach quilts & chairs to share.
We will also invite Dessa to come along and sing before the B Street Band takes the stage…
@ragingloli you can stay home and keep the rain there. ;>)
Oh, can we have some boats or wave runners available? I prefer a boat myself. A party boat, like a pontoon, or any boat, I just don’t want to go too fast.
Oh sounds lovely.. I will bring some kites a few bottles of ever clear to throw on the fire after things cool down.
I will follow suit from @bookish and bring my great summer fling.
We don’t spend too much time together so don’t be offended if we go off somewhere private….
We’ll be more then present for any debates and live music or any boating fun.
I’ll bring my wife unit so she can meet all these crazy people I answer questions with. Perhaps a small pig we can roast. The neighbors usually have a lame one or a runt we can have for such occasions. We can do it Hawaiian style in the sand, or probably scrounge a suitable drum to put coals in.
Will it be large enough to fit, like…...a person ??
By the shore? My army and I will drop in from the mists. We’ll bring mutton and cute little skull shaped cakes. And kegs of mead. Lots of it. Just listen for our droning voices carried on the wind, and the smell of blood and fire.
A hog roaster is large enough to roast a person in I suppose if you were so inclined. but not enough meat for as large a crowd as I anticipate. Unless we were to get a very large meaty person. Hmmmm… is it tasty my precious, is it juicy my precious. Hates to ruins it as we like ‘em fresh, and wriglin’!
Record heat wave here on thje west coast…I am bringing chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad and watermelon and…...lots of BEER!
Coloma is gearing up for a beer watering moment tonight, garden hose in one hand, beer in the other. lol
No, no….I was thinking that she it could be used more as a fire source…. for toasting marshmallows, that sort of thing….
The location sounds great. I make a fabulous guacamole, and a scrumptious lasagna! I’ll bring those, plus a cooler of these, plus one of these and a whole tray of these!
I’ll be bringing the potato salad, minus boiled eggs for those that prefer no eggs.
Also a pitcher of margarita’s.
Aww. Wish I could be there. I’m too far away. Sunshine is what I would bring if I could go.
I’ll bring a variety of cheese appetizers and the biggest smile you ever saw!
psst, @gm_pansa1 It’s a virtual picnic, so everyone can be there, no matter where you live.
Oh wait I just remembered some caribou I had… Dipped in a blueberry reduction would be magnificent.
And I just got some halibut in… deep fried with some tarter and lemon…. Good stuff. y
Sounds great! Ill bring alcohol…lots and lots of alcohol!!!!
I’m hanging with @unbroken, that sounds fabulous. @eggie Need a ride?!
I am bringing my swim suit and a chilled asparagus salad.
I’ll bring brie, crackers and grapes. Thanks for the invite!
@LuckyGuy What about Tante Saidy? Will she come too?
The girls and I will be there! I’ll bring all the paper plates, silverware, cups, napkins and some chips. I don’t like to cook.
“Meet me at Mary’s Place, we’re gonna have a party!”
I might bring the whip, too. If you’re lucky. :p
@augustlan Woohoo! Now it’s getting to be a PAR-TEE!!
I’ll bring her along. I’ll introduce her to Albert. He’s such a Mensch!
Hell yeah, it ain’t a party without a whip!
Whip it, whip it good. lol
6:26 in the California inferno, my car said 104 at 5 p.m.
I am about 10 minutes away from ripping off all my clothes and going out to water my prolific little garden. Just cracked my 3rd Corona lite. AC on all night tonight, fer sure! lol
Every picnic should have a pachyderm present.
Playing All Night Long by Lionel Richie and Saftey Dance by Men Without Hats
I am bringing an ice cream treat called Mud Pie, and a Karaoke machine.
Who wants to sing “Don’t Stop Believing”?
@filmfann As long as you don’t just stop the song halfway through. I hate it when people do that.
I’ll bring dessert. By bringing dessert, I’m assured that there will be a good dessert.
I’ll bring my partner and a box full of fish, because whole trout, snapper and swordfish steaks are delicious done on a barbie. And my partner is an excellent cook.
^^^ Yesterday I drove up into the Sierras about an hour above me and spent the afternoon wading in a trout filled stream with little trout leaping all around me. Sublime!
Plenty of salads and beer!
Jesus mercy….it is SO incredibly HOT here. I just spent about 15 minutes out in my yard and I need another shower. lol
I want to lie in a pool of ice water right now.
Cucumber salad, watermelon and more BEER here. haha
Coronas at @Coloma‘s bring your thirsties.
I saw a recipe today for something like “Spiced rum raisin oatmeal cookies.” Sounds like a plan…...
Holy shit…bring on the Coronas! Nah…actually gallons of ice water for me right now, haha 7:14 pm and the power just came back on after 2 hours out due to a big brush fire along the main Hwy. here up into theses hills.
107 today and I just took an ice cold shower after watering down the deck, trees, lawn, garden, hillside covered in pine needles behind the house. Jesus mercy…the house was up to about 100 degrees in less than an hour.
I think you should all toast the firefighters that lost their lives in AZ. yesterday and breathe a sigh of relief that Coloma does not go up in smoke anytime soon in the hot Sierras this week. haha
A baaad week for wildfires here and it’s only going to get worse as the week goes on.
If I am going to go up in smoke it better be the kind of smoke that makes burning to death a pleasure.
Please send emergency happy brownies to your hot and sweaty friend in “blazing” CA. tonight. lol
@Coloma I can’t believe you lost power! It just never ends. A slow torture for you.
@JLeslie Haha…better now, cool, wet hair and a nice big bowl of icy watermelon. Whew….it’s an inferno out there.
Three days later… sigh…
I would’ve brought my famous lasagna.
:-)
@zenzen Party is still going on. Glad you’re here!
Nice to see you too penguinchke.
@zenzen Been missing you! Where you been?
<—- Marwyn will make his famous Clover salad and take us on a nature hike to the best patches for picking. lol
—-^^^ Oops..forgot I replaced the goose with my big beak. lol..Okay, I can make clover salad too! I’ve learned from the pasture master.—
^^^ Indica please. Purple Kush…oooh, where’s the hot tub and M&M’s. lol
@Coloma Are you making the brownies, then? ;)
I made the most awesome dinner yesterday. Home made potato salad, marinated baby zuchinni and cherry tomatoes and black olives and cucumbers from my little garden with BBQ’d chicken breasts, grillin’ beans and watermelon, red grapes and mandarin orange salad. Oh my….and of course, it was a dinner that HAD to be eaten out on the deck. Mmm good!
Pre-dinner, mandatory 3 Coronas of course. lol
