Which weather conditions are your favourite?

Asked by LornaLove (10037points) August 3rd, 2013

Do you prefer when the sky is overcast? Or sunny? Warm, hot or cold. How do you feel about rain. Does the weather effect your mood profoundly or not at all?

If you do prefer a certain weather, like cold, could you explain why? Also, what you would do that day for example.

Sunny and warm but not heatwave hot! A bit of rain now and again is welcome too. Yes, the weather affects my mood as well as my physical health too. If a cold front is coming up I get headaches which pass as soon as it fades!

Above all, spring and fall. Crisp and breezy. do anything you want to do.
Thunderstorms.
watch them from a porch if the weather is warm enough. enjoy the sounds and the show.
Summer rain.
walk in it. open the windows at night and go to sleep to the sound.
A soft blanketing snow in winter [when you don’t have to do anything but go outside to check it out before people mess up the snow and then return to a warm room].

Sunny and blue skies. I like it hot. 80’s during the day and 70 at night is good. Although a little colder in the winter for a few weeks here and there is nice to be able to open the windows, let fresh air through the house. I am afraid of the lightening, but I live in the lightening capital of the US, you should be a little afraid here. I don’t mind the rain as long as it doesn’t last long. Best if it happens during the evening hours and doesn’t interrupt anything. When I lived in northern states what I hated most was a very cold rain in the fall or winter. I would rather it snow. Powder can be just brushed off if you get caught in it. Getting wet in the freezing cold is miserable, the streets become a sheet of ice when the temperature drops, just all around bad.

The weather affects my mood. I say it all the time, moving to FL changed my life. Always being able to walk outside into warm weather is amazing. It’s so much easier than bundling up all winter long. Air conditiong is way cheaper than heat, t-shirts are way cheaper than coats, I love being able to swim all the time, I am outdoors much much more.

The weather effects my mood very much. Usually we have 4 months of dark winter and that often results in seasonal blues for me.

I like the weather to be mild, around 20 degrees C and a blue sky. I love the first days of spring, when you can breathe in the fresh air and you feel life coming back to you. I do like the changing of the seasons, but winter is too long for me.

Cloudy and cool. I hate the cold winter, and I despise the hot summer.

I love the crisp, quiet of winter snow.
I love the smell of spring rain, and the warmth of the sun when it breaks through the clouds.
I love the smell of the autumn leaves and their crunch beneath my feet.
I love the fresh produce and long days of summer.

Around 60 and sunny. Heat/humidity does awful things to my hair, as does rain. I also prefer to wear something like skinny jeans with boots and a top with a jacket over it than shorts and a t-shirt.

Hot, sunny, humid days. Heat wave weather.

Warm and dry (about 75 is nice if it’s dry) or a nice overcast day. Overcast days make me feel sentimental.

It depends on my mood I guess.

But if I had to pick one that always makes me feel alive it would be a winters day with snow about a foot thick on the ground below and a sunny, bright blue, almost cloudless sky above with a gentle breeze that makes the snow drift down slowly from the trees and a crispness in the air that leaves vapor clouds when you breath out.

Overcast and rainy.

tranquilsea's avatar

I love a stormy rainy day.

San Diego weather, low humidity and upper 70’s and light breezes.

Second favorite is trade winds and 80’s ( Mai Tai would finish it! )

Fall. Cool, campfire, snuggle, leaves, color, breeze.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.

Eighty-Five and sunny with low humidity, a nice breeze, and fluffy white clouds scooting across the sky.

I like all weather except extreme heat. I do love perfect summer nights when it cools down.
My idea weather would be sunny, with a light breeze, beautiful clouds going by and a perfect high of about 82 degrees. I also LOVE wild storms, I live just at the snowline in my town and we can get anywhere from a few inches to a foot depending on the temps. as the storms move into the high Sierras here.

I love snow but don’t want to live buried in it all winter so my zone is a perfect blend of fun snow but not hardship snow. lol

I like it cool and overcast, perhaps a little drizzle. Those sort of days make me feel reinvigorated. Perfect weather for biking and what not.

I like sunny days when it’s a frigid winter day, great for just basking in the sun.

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

My ideal weather would be five days of sun and 75–80 degrees, then two days of thunderstorms, rain and 65–70 degrees, rinse and repeat, all year long.

Living in Texas, I prefer the spring and fall. I can’t stand the sunny 90’s and above, and I can’t stand the cloudy 40’s and below.

A perfect day for me depends on my mood. It could be a day with the highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s, or a day with a snowstorm in the forecast. I prefer fall and winter.

Several days of oppressive heat, humidity and no clouds in sight is hell for me. Anything over 85F is oppressive to me. That type of weather makes me depressed and lethargic.

I love hot, sunny weather when I am able to enjoy it (ie: not working indoors), it’s a novelty in this country so it feels almost criminal not to make the most of it when we do get it. However, I also love overcast/rainy weather. There’s something soothing about “miserable” weather for me!

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

Overcast but warm.

Bluefreedom's avatar

If I could control weather, at least where I’m at in Phoenix, Arizona, I’d have each day be overcast every day of the year. And some rain thrown in also. Drought is no bueno.

Whatever they have on Mars, with an occasional, refreshing 1200-MPH Neptunian-style breeze. :-)

The wind blows stronger around uranus, far stronger.

Of course weather affects ones moods.
I need change in the weather. I could not live in a place with the same thing all the time.
I love a sunny moderate day where you can breath the sun right into your soul
I love a snowy day where the flakes are as big as your head
I love the soft spring rain that permeates every part of you
I love a hot muggy steamy day that finds me on the beach with my toes in the sand
I love a crisp fall day where the trees remind me what a glory is held in nature.
I love going from the hot tub to roll in the snow and then back into the hot tub

There is beauty in every day.

Dutchess_III's avatar

“I love going from the hot tub to roll in the snow and then back into the hot tub…” then I suddenly realize I’m freezing, wet and cold with snow in my hair and I don’t have a hot tub!

Coloma's avatar

^^^ LOl..Oh how I miss my hot tub. Nothing like soaking in the rain, standing up to get a blast of cold wind all over your body then sinking back into bliss. I also used to go sit in mine in the summer, kept it cold, put the garden hose in to top it off and put over my head and I would take an umbrella to shade me from the sun. Marvelous!
