Where did these Fluther inside jokes come from?

Asked by livelaughlove21 (15724points) October 24th, 2013 from iPhone

I suppose I haven’t been here long enough, but I can’t help but wonder what the significance is of these words here on Fluther. Where did these inside jokes start?

Nekkid
Pancakes
Frizzer

Are there any others?

I saw the CIA thread, though I still don’t get it. I guess I had to be there.

The CIA thread was funnier before they changed the moderation code a while back.

Hoping someone has links bookmarked… I haven’t read the frizzer thread in a while.

They started innocently enough. A question asked and then it turned funny or intense or just really crazy answers.
There are others that are funny or interesting. There was one about a cake that a jelly would get randomly from some guy that never called her. For no reason. Just random.
There was the marriage proposal. Best ever.

Same answer as Katniss. Screw it, have fun with it.

There was also the drama over Judochop and what he thought was constipation. Our Dr. Shiloh urged hin to go to the ER asap…it was a burst appendix.

Ah, those were the days. :) I miss ‘em. People had fun back then.

Vagina nose! Who has a link for vagina nose?

Ahaha:

A poo-hat.

What do you get if you sneak up on a nervous elephant?

I’ve never bought into the inside “joke” philosophy, mainly because it strikes me as lame & nerdy.
“Hey, look at us being hilarious with our internal ramblings.”
Yeah, not really.

livelaughlove21's avatar

@ucme I always felt a tiny but left out or something. However, after reading the original threads, I’ve realized I probably really did “have to be there,” because I’m not laughing.

ucme's avatar

@livelaughlove21 Yeah, it’s one of the quirks of “community” sites like this, you’re going to get that type of behaviour. Nothing especially wrong with it, just not my bag.

Mama_Cakes's avatar

Don’t knock it. It was good times.

ucme's avatar

I’m not “knocking” anything, just giving my opinion on it & certainly not singling out a particular time frame. One thing to be said about the “old days”, at least back then this kind of stuff was original.
Now it’s morphed into tired old memes, as I say, not my bag.

@ucme @livelaughlove21 I’m surprised either of you independent, hilarious people feel anything about it at all. ;) (smooches)

I will never look at an orange tree the same, since Wundy left.

Or at the “Globe” @Kardamom

@ucme Do you not have any inside jokes with family or friends (away from Fluther I mean)? My dad and I have so many inside jokes that I think it annoys other family members at get-togethers!!!

ucme's avatar

@Leanne1986 Of course, doesn’t everyone.
That’s done with style though, not the cheesy crap we see here.

glacial's avatar

@ucme Don’t you ever have anything positive to say about anything on Fluther? You participate a lot for someone whose comments are in the spirit of “I hate this” about 95% of the time.

ucme's avatar

@glacial Wrong!!
I’m sure it suits you to believe that crap, but once again you feel the need to chime in & question someone, becoming quite a habit ain’t it?
Not that it’s any of your business, but i’ve frequently bigged up Fluther & not only do I hang around, but enjoy the vast majority of what it has to offer.
As I said, a couple of quirks are not to my liking so I keep out of it, unless a question brings the topic up, that’s kinda the point, answering questions!!
Not sure which “mental calculator” came up with the laughably inaccurate “95%” though, i’d get that fixed if I were you.

livelaughlove21's avatar

95%? Not even close. @ucme is quite clearly the resident “class clown” of Fluther, generally cracking jokes and attempting to keep things light.

I think it’s really easy for the inside jokes of others to get annoying. I find this to be true offline as well. Especially when you’re left out of the loop and have to sit there while your friends crack up about something that only makes sense to them. My best friend in high school and I had tons of inside jokes, and we kept them between us, only bringing them up in private conversations. Bringing inside jokes up over and over again gets old fast.

And to all of our new Askville guests, the above demonstration was actually a play put on by 2 of our thespian Fluther members. It was a demonstration to show you how Jellies fight (they were still quite polite) and how our Moderation team is easily able to step in and quell our little dust ups. Easy Squeezy. You would never see this kind of genteel display on other sites, I’m guessing.

This concludes our presentation for the evening.

This was only a drill. If this had been a real emergency, you would have heard a loud bell and would have been directed to the nearest exits. Have a nice day.

ucme's avatar

@Kardamom Funny, but a glaring personal attack is apparently not deemed so by the “producers”...i’ll call my agent in the morning.

Kardamom's avatar

@ucme I’m still trying to get you a gig on one of those British period pieces. You have such a dreamy voice! Would you prefer something like Doc Martin, or more Downton Abbey-ish?

ucme's avatar

@Kardamom Hmm, I can do Sir Alan of Rickman if you like, but only if you beg :)

Kardamom's avatar

@ucme Starting to fan myself now. You are such a tease!

ucme's avatar

@Kardamom Ha, my son loves his voice, from Snape to Hans Gruber, he finds him & I quote…“hilarious” & “awesome.”

An altogether more pleasant exchange, that’s what I love about this place, the smooth far outweighs the rough, which is nice & kinda my whole point.

Kardamom's avatar

@ucme I agree. And I hope the Askville folks find our home to be a hospitable place for them to retreat to.

Can you just do a little Alan Rickman for me, before I go to bed??? Pretty please?

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

Mmmmmmm , Alan Rickman…......

Seek's avatar

I’d like to do a little Alan Rickman before I go to bed.

ucme's avatar

@Kardamom “Shoot the glarss!”
