Found my old iPod...help?

Asked by blueberry_kid (5957points) May 15th, 2014

Okay, so for I’m leaving for Guatemala soon and I don’t want to bring my iPhone with me because it might get stolen. I found my old iTouch from like 2011 and I had a passcode on it but I have no idea what it was.

I’ve changed it multiple times and now it’s licked for 5 minutes…how do I unlock it through iTunes? I don’t mind erasing everything on it, I just need to get it unlocked.

Found these directions in Apple Support:

Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say “yes” to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say “yes.”
