What Christmas song have you noticed that you hear often that has been covered by a variety of artists?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) December 6th, 2014

I have noticed I cannot escape that Winter Wonderland song, it seemed to have been covered by every man and his brother, just when I think it was the last time for the hour I have to hear it, there it is again, sung by someone different. Is there a Christmas song that you notice you hear seemingly all of the time, but performed by different artist?

One Christmas song I loved from the 80s was “Power of Love” by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. I’ve heard another version this year, no idea who sings it (it’s a woman). I like it but the original is still better.

The only other one I can think of offhand is “Do They Know Its Christmas” which seems to get churned out every few years with a different bunch of singers involved.

Too many g*d-d*mned Drummer Boys.

I have hated that song since Richie sang it on the Dick Van Dyke show Christmas Special.

Pah-Rump-A-Pum-Pum my ass.

“Carol of the Bells”. There are only a couple of versions of that song that I really like.

@zenvelo I’d Pah-Rump-A-Pum-Pum your ass if I could figure out how.

I get tired of thousands of different ways people sing Jingle Bells. They try to sing Jingle Bells all fancy, and to me it just sounds like confused people who can’t get it right. It it just a fun little song about a sleigh ride. Why do people want to make it sound like some ancient horrific ritual, or royal privilege? It is just the happy feeling of hearing some bells during a ride in the winter.

@Here2_4 come here to say Jingle Bell too. Even if I don’t get it right, hearing so many people covering it is still tiring.

@dappled_leaves –I guess that is just a horrible song, it doesn’t sound good no matter who is singing it, but the group with the girl on the violin was truly horrible…….HOWL!!! HOWL!!!
