.dbf cannot be opened?

Asked by EvilGrin (7points) February 3rd, 2015

An error appears while using one .dbf file in my office. This file consists of no rows and 8 columns. This is a simple table. Error message is: .dbf is cannot be opened in shared mode.
I am using a system with DBFManager and a Visual FoxPro 6.0 set up.
This error appeared after a power outage, so I think maybe the problem in it.
Replacing the file with a backup and restarting the server didn`t help.
Can you advise me how to solve this?

Can you open other .dbf tables? I would try and see if just that file is corrupted, then I would try maybe adjusting the seetings in the software, but hey I don’t have a clue to be honest.

I found something “You can’t open the same table with the same “alias” name in two different work areas.” Maybe that will help or someone who knows something will answer this question.
