Anyone know of a good online writing course?

Asked by kinder222 (81points) March 7th, 2015

I’m a writer.
I have an imagination that never dries out, yet my grammar, sentence structure and punctuation are shocking.
I studied writing at school, but, on turning 17 I auditioned for Drama School and never went back to writing.
Now as an ‘older,’ woman I’d like to get back into writing again and I find myself limited by my lack of academic know how – rather than an actual story.

Anyone know of a good writing course online to help me with all of the above!?

Thank you!

Where do you live? Many highly reputable brick and mortar universities now have on-line courses. My daughter is taking a psych. course at the U. of Massachusetts, Amherst, for example, about 90 miles from us.

Your little example above is grammatically and structurally fine. You use parallel construction and you do not use run-on sentences or sentence fragments. You are clear; there are no spelling mistakes and you do not bloviate.

Your punctuation needs work. (For example, no quotes necessary around older)

Would you consider finding a tutor at the local high school who could simply edit and correct some small essays on any topic that you show her? That way you could skip the exams and deadlines.
