Have you read John Kennedy Toole's A Confederacy of Dunces?

Asked by rockfan (14627points) August 4th, 2015

I finished reading it today and absolutely loved it. Can’t really say anything about it that hasn’t been said before. That said, what do you think of the novel?

It has been 5 years (at least) since I read it – I remember it being very clever and good read. I would have to open it again to remember what parts I enjoyed most.

I haven’t yet; however, I feel like I need to, given the soap opera the Republican Presidential race is turning into.

@rockfan: thanks to your thoughtful question, the novel is the newest addition to my Kindle Library.

I have read it twice since high school and it is one novel that I love dearly. I wish that Mr. Toole had been able to write more as I enjoyed his style.

Easily my favorite posthumously published novel and in my top 5 novels.

Read the first 20 pages or so back in high school; got bored and didn’t find it funny or clever, so put it down. I know I need to try it again though.
