No. Not all coloring pencils are created equal. If you buy 4 different brands and compare, say, reds, they will all be a little different. What I did when I got color pencils was to buy a set of each brand and compare the colors laid down on a scrap sheet of paper, then decide which color was best for what I wanted. Also, go to a arts and crafts store and buy 2 or 3 of the lightest peach color pencils, and 2 or 3 of the darkest. No color pencil using artist should be without multiple shades of peach for flesh. (Light peach- flesh in light, dark peach-flesh in shadow. Of course this is for white or light skinned subjects, but the same pencil buying advice could be used for black (people of color) subjects.)

My art teacher recommends Prismacolor. I’m going to start using them next week.

I don’t know any of the brands in your link. And my knowledge of color pencil brands is limited to local brands. I already used three international brand though: Macro, Contre and Staedtler. I go for Macro. Contre’s colors are so fade, and Staedtler kind of messes up.

But I was going to say the same thing as @kritiper, each colored pencil brand has a different color shades. I have a collection of many color brands mixed up together in a box. With them, I can easily choose the shade of color I want. But that’s just me who takes art too seriously. If you just want to color casually, just buy a brand that you are the most comfortable with and go with it.

I use Prismacolor. They are fairly expensive, but worth every penny. Highly pigmented, easy to use, quality colored pencils. I always bring them when we do group coloring (I’m an artist, but I use the colored pencils for both drawing and coloring in coloring books) and everyone who has tried them is hooked on them. They’re worth the splurge.

I’ve been using Prismacolor since 1989. They’re pretty amazing, if a tad pricey.
