How can I set my MacBook's password to be asked everytime I turn on the computer?

Asked by 2late2be (2286points) August 5th, 2008 from iPhone

I’m just being asked for it when I’m downloading certain programs, but I want it to be be when I first turn on the computer, I’m the only user but I still want it… Thanks anyone…

in the preferences, users, login options, there’s an automatic login option you can turn off

…you could have looked around before you asked this though…

I’m sorry I bothered you with my question, I did looked, but couldn’t find it, so I opted for asking. Thank you anyway

well, it’s no big deal, but i get a lot of these questions daily, and a lot of them are just “ask first, check later” ones, and this is just my way of reminding you not to turn into “one of them”

anyway, glad to be of service :)
