Can you think of any movies where the "wonderful" villain makes the film?

Asked by stanleybmanly (24153points) February 25th, 2017 from iPhone

I’m in the middle of a broadcast of “Strangers on a Train”. Bruno (Robert Walker) is my all time favorite movie psychopath. But even he is nearly upstaged in the brief appearances by his loopy, clueless, airhead mother (Marion Lorne). I just love this delicious movie.

Fight Club, if you count Tyler as the villain. Also The Shining. There’s not much to that film without Jack Torrance.

Almost anything Willem Dafoe is in.

I liked the lady villain in “101 Dalmatians”. Don’t think Other characters were that important in the movie.

@ragingloli YES! Ming the Merciless in those old 30s era Flash Gordon serials that were shown on tv when I was little. Those films were truly hokie when it came to production values, but Ming just oozed evil, and both my sisters and I just worshiped him and the rather deliberate effort put into making him the closest replica of the popular depiction of the devil to ever grace a screen.

Never saw those. I meant the version with Max von Sydow.

The Untouchables, featuring bastardly Billy Drago as fearless Frank Nitti.

And of course, King Kong.

Gone With the Wind. Assuming that you see Rhett Butler as a villain.

Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast
I might be the only person who saw this movie, I have never heard anyone else mention it, but Kingsley was nominated for the supporting actor Oscar.

Edward G. Robinson in Key Largo
He’s so mean!

And Bruno in Strangers is great, too. I love that movie.

Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood
I drink your milkshake!

And Paul Dano was so good. His speechifying was amusing at first because I had only seen him in Little Miss Sunshine where he was mute.

Wait Until Dark
Boys from Brazil
Inglorious Basterds

I haven’t seen Inglorious Basterds. Are the “wonderful” villains Nazis, or killing Nazis?

“The Villain” with Kirk Douglas.

Daniel Day-Lewis as the butcher, in Gangs of New York. Lots of good racist material (especially against the Irish )

My friends and I LOVE offensive humor. Even if it isn’t supposed to be funny.

The show ‘Vikings’ is pretty much all bad guys. There are no good guys. Really cool.

Good choices @ucme. No Country for Old Men was an awesome movie. But behind all the dramatics and suspense, it’s really just a slasher flick WITH THE MOST ORIGINAL MURDER IMPLEMENT EVER.

Yeah you’re not wrong @Berserker & he has the best hair of any slash crazed maniac, although to be fair Jason, Michael & Freddie have awful barbers :D

They’d make awful barbers too :D
