First of all, you need to find out if the consulting you will do is in an area that requires education or licensing. For instance, if you were going to offer real estate guidance, some jurisdictions might require a real estate license.

Snd, you need to decide if you are running a business as a proprietor or as some form of limited liability set up, and set that up with the Province.

And you will need to determine if you need a business license for your locale.

It would be best to speak to a local lawyer to fin out what is needed in Red Deer, which would certainly be different from what is needed where I live in California.

@zenvelo I was wondering if I can make a Canadian equivalent of Aaron Cleary, asshole consulting Link Is NSFW swearing.

I am not impressed with Aaron Clarey. I did a Web search and found this video, which goes along with the impression that I got. I don’t find it admirable to give empty repetitive advice without any special training. If you have the right personality, you may be able to pull off a similar con job, but a better way to earn a living would be to get an education or trying to acquire real work skills.
