What type of paper bag should I use for groceries?

Asked by jamesbaneny (4points) June 21st, 2017

Most bags usually get torn apart while carrying groceries. So I’m wondering which bag should I prefer?

Where I live the store sells sturdy reusable bags for about $1. Some are even insulated. They’ve never broken yet.

I like the brown paper bags with handles used by Whole Foods. My local market uses the same type. They can handle a full bag that includes a half gallon of milk; if I am gettiing two half gallons I get it double bagged.

They are strong enough to not rip on my four block walk home.

The ones with handles from Safeway are very good. If I have a moderately heavy bag they even hold up in some rain.
