Is it possible to keep the inside of a sweatshirt or hoodie soft?

Asked by jonsblond (43674points) November 19th, 2017

I live in hoodies during the winter but they end up not quite as comfortable as they were when I bought them.

Do you have any tips to keep the inside soft?

Have you tried adding softener to the wash? I don’t use softener, but maybe it would work? I know when I stay at peoples houses who use it the towels seem very soft. I hate that, because the towels seem to not absorb water as well, but it might be a good thing when it comes to your sweatshirts. Another idea is turning your sweatshirts inside out when you dry them and using a dryer sheet in the dryer.

It depends on the manufacturer. I can’t tell you which is best. Some just tend to pill up, and that makes them less comfortable.

How do you currently wash and dry them?

Wash in cool water and dry in the dryer with dryer sheets. I don’t turn them inside out.
