Have you ever had a bad experience with on line shopping?

What did it take to resolve it, and was it to your satisfaction?
What do you do now so that it doesn’t happen again?

Never. I do most of my shopping through Amazon (unfortunately), and I have had nothing but great experiences. I just checked my account – I made 94 purchases in 2017 through Amazon. My wife does most of her shopping online as well.

Additionally, I have Amazon Prime, so I get 2-day shipping for everything (sometimes less), and the option to do one-day shipping for $3.99 (I have had to do a couple of times). I also get about $50/month in Amazon credit because my credit card is Amazon, and I use it for all purchases (groceries, bills, etc).

Returns have always been painless. And in some cases, they’ll just refund my purchase and tell me to keep the product.

Um, yeah. It’s rare that the item actually matches the description, or looks like the item picture.
I’ve always had good luck with returns, though.

I finally had a horrible experience with an Ebay seller. I should have known better with his 97% rating.
I bought a ring for $165 and returned it with a tracking number. Thing is, he switched addresses on me—he actually appeared to have moved to a new address as soon as he got the ring! He claimed PayPal was “withholding my funds” temporarily and even was able to send me a photo of a piece of paper that said, “withholding funds” like they do it all the time. I kept writing him over and over then Ebay dropped the whole thing saying it was too late for a refund.

I bought a “sonic screwdriver” on Amazon as a stocking stuffer present. I didn’t realize I was ordering something from China, and it took for ever to get here. It was supposed to light up and make noises, but it never really worked right.

There was no way for me to return it, and it wasn’t enough money to fret over, but I did learn to check the seller more carefully before completing a transaction.

@Aster Ebay gets rid of people like that. Did Ebay themselves tell you it was too late?

Yeah, I’ve had that. Ordered from Amazon, not realizing it was coming from Mars so some of the kids got their Christmas presents in July! (I’m exaggerating…but seriously, more like the end of January.)

I bought a power cord from eBay and was struck with a $20 border crosing fee.
