Have you had this happen with Amazon?

Asked by SQUEEKY2 (23120points) April 29th, 2021

I can get into my account no problem, but when I go to check out it sends a link to my cell phone.
This is a problem I have a flip phone with zero data, and there it stops.
I have to tried to get a hold of customer support that is a joke in it self trying to talk to a human ,I think it would be easier winning the lottery.
Is there a way around this?
I would love a helpful answer before a mod gives me a lesson in writing.

did you try online chat?

Look to see whether you can change the go-to contact device from mobile to mail.
The link you talk about, what does it entail?
Is it to verify something?

I don’t know ,I have tried to post it in Amazon and it does nothing.

Post it?
As in in a forum, a faq, a “contact us”?
Have you pasted it in a new browser tab?

I ordered on amazon recently and got an instant message to ensure security that it was in fact me ordering.
I appreciate that as I heard many scams are around and amazon is making sure that its clients are secure.
I got a passcode texted to me on my cellphone and also an email.
Then keyed in that passcode and all worked out well.

I am glad that Amazon is going that extra mile to ensure safe transactions.

Sounds like Two-Step Verification

Go to your account and change the mobile number to your email.

Squeak. The bank like the rest of society is going to compel you to abandon your antique phone.

If you get a cheap smartphone, pop your sim card in there, then connect it to your wifi, it will not matter if your phone plan has data in it or not.
As long as you are at home or somewhere with free wifi.

Is that for the Canadian Amazon?

Thanks @Tropical_Willie but the number @Dutchess_III gave me worked and they took my phone off and will deal in emails from now on,problem solved thank you everyone, and @stanleybmanly I am still not going to get a damn smart phone I spend way to much time on line as is,and again all I want a cell for is storing numbers and talking to people I do text a little A DAMN little but some friends refuse to ever answer their phones, and texting is how I get to them, know what I text them (CALL ME) that is it.
