Have you visited legislative house/assembly where you live as a youngster?

Was there a positive impact on you or otherwise? Would you ask your kids/grandkids to visit as well?

I did in Jr High and High School, went up to Sacramento for the day. We met our Assemblyman, and sat in on some committee hearings, and also the legislative session.

My kids did not go with their schools, but they did both get to the US Capitol and saw Congress in session.

I highly recommend it, it helps one’s understanding of how Government works.

Went to the federal parliament many times as a kid, and the provincial legislature a few times. Started going to city hall meetings as a kid and continued to attend in various cities I lived in once I left home to go to university. I love watching politics in action.
