What is the term for the following kind of copying/selecting? See detail.

Asked by flo (13313points) October 31st, 2018

If you want to copy the list of the 30 countries below the map,
https://www.businessinsider.com/countries-that-recognize-birthright-citizenship-jus-soli-2018-10
you have to copy the parts around the list as well, so you have to start selecting from the outside the border. What do you call it?

The list of countries are part of the picture so you can’t select them as text.

Eventhough it’s a picture it can be copied and then the rest of the stuff can be removed Something like that. I have it in my email. It refused to happen here.

@Zaku Thanks but it’s not that I was looking for the list, it’s in the link in my detail. But where did you get the list from?

Zaku's avatar

@flo I just scrolled down on the link you showed. On my browser (Firefox), it appears in normal text below the images.

flo's avatar

Ok. Did make a point of turning the list to a vertical form or did it Firefox do it?

Zaku's avatar

@flo I just copied & pasted the version of the list that is five paragraphs below the one in the image, in one single-column text section.

Interesting it didn’t occur to me they would have the same list. Thanks.again.
