Why do I feel sad on January 24?

Asked by vs11v (4points) November 29th, 2018

Disclaimer: I do not mean to offend anyone who likes January 24.

For some reason, I have always felt sad every year on January 24. It is the only day that consistently makes me sad, for I am often fine on every other day of the year. And I have no idea why I feel this way.

Did something of significance happen on that day that you are relating it to?

Perhaps, and this is just a guess, but it could be some form of residual genetic or psychic memory of an event that happened in a previous life.

It was on this day in A.D. 41 that Caligula was assassinated by the Praetorian Guards. Do you find yourself having sharp, stabbing pains or wearing loose fitting robes or garments and have a predilection for feasts, sex and excess?

Because on Jan 24 1962 Brian Epstein signed a management contract with the Beatles. And you miss the Beatles.

Don’t know about where you live, but Jan 24 is about mid winter for me & is usually one of the coldest days of the season. After that day, it seems to begin to grow a little bit warmer with the following weeks. Fortunately for me, the winters where I live are short lived; but, during the worst days I find it difficult to enjoy my days as they are cold, short, & miserable!!!

I like the idea that it is related to a previous life.

@cookieman It helps explain my wifes completely irrational fear of trains. Not riding on them, or even being at the station; it is only when she is walking or in a car and hears the horn that she gets panicky.

I’d buy that. Why not? As good an explanation as any.

I have an irrational fear of trains myself, but in my past life trains had not been invented.

Well, here the answer. On January 24th in the year 0041 Claudius succeeded his nephew Caligula as Roman Emperor after the later’s assassination by officers of the Praetorian Guard. You were Cladius in another life, and you feel super guilty about killing off your nephew.

Oh wait! Maybe it’s this: On January 24th,1076 Synod of Worms: German King Henry IV fires Pope Gregory VII. In the immortal words of our illustrious and wildly popular president, *“YOU’RE FIRED!**

NO! I found it! on Jan 24th, 1984 Apple Computer Inc unveils its revolutionary Macintosh personal computer. You love the Mac and you are depressed that it’s taken second fiddle to the PC.
