What were your last years "New Year's Resolutions" that never got done, so they are being recycled into 2019?

Asked by josie (30934points) December 29th, 2018

Admittedly one the most over-done questions in the world.
But so what?

Ha. I recycle mine every year.
This year I promise to be in touch a little more with friends and family.

And you Josie?

Your question reminds me that we’re about to hit New Years Resolution Season at my health club. Every January, people buy memberships, resolving to work out and get in shape. The place is packed for a few weeks, then attendance tapers-off to normal levels. But, those new, but soon absent, members continue to pay dues and support the club financially.

One noteworthy exception – a guy who started last January and is still there. He lost a significant amount of weight and is now fit and healthy. Every now and then, I slip him a quiet, private complement about how well he’s done and what an inspiration he is.

None. I make no resolutions, so I won’t feel badly about breaking them.

I don’t usually make them and a new year is quite insignificant to me but I will be glad to see the back of 2018 from many reasons in 2019, i am hoping to pay less attention to the noise and more to the signal.

I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions either, but I do make “resolutions” throughout the year. This summer I decided I was going to eat more salad and I did for a few months, but I’ve since fallen off the salad wagon. So I might try that again. I’d like to eat less red meat as well. I’ve never been one to pay much attention to what I eat (partly because I’ve been skinny my whole life), but it’s about more than weight, and I’d like to get into some healthier eating habits.

My New Year’s Resolution in 1999 was to never make any more New Year’s Resolutions because they are self defeating. I have kept that resolution every single year so I am proud of me and I feel good about myself. Yay me.

Same as resolutions not done dating back to 2010. Lowering cholesterol and sugar levels!

Losing 20 pounds. I lost 7. Actually, I lost 9, gained back 2 this past 6 weeks.

I looked through an old notebook to find my list from last year.

Things I want to do in 2018.
1. Marry the love of my life.
2. Pet more cats.
3. Finish one of my half-written books.

I am recycling “Pet more cats” because you can always pet more cats.

I really can’t expect much from myself, so making resolutions would be pointless.
I set goals, very small goals, but I no longer expect much to come of it.
