I am more afraid of pence than I am of trump. At this time I’d just rather trump be voted out and skip all the hoopla of impeachment or a jail term. Especially if pence can pardon him.

The details of your question are stating things which, although poplar talking points among democrats, are not based in reality. So the discussion really just amounts to a moot point.

In the first point, there are no crimes.

The second point is, Trump is not going to be charged with crimes, real or imagined or fabricated.

The third point, Pence is not a theocrat. He is a Reagan-type conservative but weaker than Trump or Reagan.

This incessant litany of redoing the Mueller report, and seeing crimes of obstruction where there are neither, is getting old. Its like you’re still trying to change the outcome of the civil war. Its like you are trying to re-write history, but you’re attempting to re-write the present.

A president has to be impeached for the right reasons and while I think Trump is a disaster there are insufficient grounds for impeachment. Political considerations should not be part of the impeachment process which is about criminality rather than politics.

Apart from his ideology, Trump is unfit for office. As Pelosi said , “he doesn’t know right from wrong”. I can’t imagine Pence being any worse.

The best way is to vote him out so that Pence will be out as well.

Then charges will be made on Trump..as there ARE major facts to come out in public then.

To do it while he is holding office would be a disaster as Trump will manipulate Pence still.

Better to clear the slate clean then muddy the waters more by keeping the public at large in turmoil while manipulating all those around him and even the World stage of politics.
A wise, civil President is needed to bring the country and the World back to its senses.
Lets all hope that there is ONE running for Office next Year?

I wasn’t aware that I had made any statements, other than the fact that the word “theocrat” follows Vice President Pence around, and giving you credit for being a reasonably well-informed person, I’m pretty sure you’ve read people referring to him so. And I hope you noticed that I didn’t say Vice President Pence is a theocrat. I simply said the word follows him around.

I don’t understand how such a discussion could be a moot point. Many on the left are speaking of impeaching President Trump. Whether it’s going to happen or not, whether it would be successful or not, those are moot, with respect to my question, which was about what people think might happen if he were indeed impeached and fired.

It’s interesting that you suggest that I am trying to change the outcome of the past, or rewrite history, given that you have done precisely that with respect to my question. I said none of the things you have suggested, nor implied them. I wasn’t asking about the Mueller report, or any other factual matters. I was asking people for their opinions and predictions.

Perhaps you didn’t notice that I also asked you for your thoughts about the negative outcome if President Trump were impeached. I’m sad that in rewriting my question, you redacted the very part that I had hoped you would respond to.

I should think that supporters of the president would love to see him impeached and removed, for the very reasons I suggested, given that it would be such a humiliating blow to those who oppose him—that does seem to be what our political process is about these days, scoring “points” against each other.

I’d still like to know your thoughts on what would happen if the president were indeed impeached and fired. I’m not interested in partisan politics. I think the whole process is broken, and the Constitution is at least 150 years out of date. Not that I care what you think about me, and not that you care what I think, but I mention it in case it eases your sense that I’m propagandizing for the Democrats, with the goal of freeing your imagination to speculate.

There’s no reason for us to be at odds. We both want many, many of the same things. If we all worked on the things we agree on, we’d be too busy to fight over the things we don’t agree on.

If Nixon wasn’t jailed then Trump won’t be jailed. As long as these men are billionaires or close to it they won’t have prison time. Look at OJ Simpson! He’s free as a bird due to lawyers and lots of them.
If I’m not mistaken, and I often am, the idea or hope of jail for Trump has been bandied around Fluther for ages and it still hasn’t happened. Besides; what would it cost us to go through all the preliminary sessions in the courts before the gavel slams down and the judge declares him guilty !

There is no crime. If there is no crime, you cannot jail someone. And you cannot just make up a crime that didn’t happen and say he wanted it to, or almost did. or anything arbitrary and insubstantial.

But similar, actual, documented crimes to what you are alleging have been uncovered on the Democratic sign and were not pursued at all, and are finally being investigated.
