How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

Asked by Vignette (2890points) November 25th, 2019

Most of my life I pretty much felt immortal and age was just a milestone in time. As I get older here, the words of my mom start to rise before me when she said she felt like a 16 year old in a 60 year old body. I feel the same where I would peg myself to be in my late 30’s, and not looking for a place to retire. How old do you feel?

About 90 most of the time.

Sometimes I feel like I’m still 17. It kind of felt that way at my high school reunion a couple weeks ago. Other than talking about our jobs, I realized I still like most of the things I liked at that age and still feel like a kid in many ways. But realistically I think I would be the age that I am. Enough has changed that I do feel like an adult.

@lucillelucillelucille Is that 29.5 leaning towards 30? Or 29.5 feeling more of a youthful 29?

@RedDeerGuy1 that 22,000 will get you 10% off at Denny’s restaurants.

55.

I hear people say they feel young in an old person’s body all the time, and I’ve never felt like that, and still don’t. I’m 51.

I would say about 98 years old. NOT what I would like to be at all but it’s how I feel. And what makes me feel even worse is the 94 year old neighbor who walks around like a teen with a spring in his step and abounding energy.

@Vignette How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I’d be a tad older, an oldtimer in the twilight home for the bewildered, and knocking on your frisky door.

I always thought 78 was really old, but I feel more like 50 or 60. My doctor says the same. When I see some others my age, I think maybe I counted wrong, since I’m no where near that old.

45. Although last night when I mentioned I was around some people that were older than me, he said, “wow, they must have been ancient, did you have to help them walk?”

What’s interesting is we all have 2 ages, our chronological one we celebrate each birthday & our biological one which shows how our body ages, internal organs etc.

Obviously depends on lifestyle, exercise, nutrition, stress levels & so on. I reckon I’d come out as strong as an ox, feel as fit as a thirty year old.
