Does this indicate just how low the Batman franchise has sunk?

You couldn’t pay me to see it.

I was looking forward to the Snyder cut but that article pretty much dashes my excitement for it.

I have no interest in superhero movies, so no. On the other hand, if I want to watch a movie just to hear the word “fuck” I’ll just watch the “The Big Lebowski”. Or pretty much any home movie of my family.

Three days after watching Snyder’s take on Superman with his MOS it dawned upon me that it was a total piece of crap.

I spent the next few years posting “MOS is crap” in numerous YT threads. Snyder should not have been allowed to go near anymore iconic superhero character after that MOS crapfest but WB was desperate
for much needed profits. Fine.

Just wish it did not come at the expense of Superman. And Batman. And the JL.

So to this question my answer is…Hell no.

I’m not int fantasy movies.

Despite being a huge comic book geek, most of the DC movies have left me cold (I fell asleep watching Justice League and B v. S). I have no real interest in the Snyder Cut.

I’ll stay in my Marvel lane.

Hack Snyder, like Jar Jar Abrams, is one of those inept “film makers” of whom you wonder why they keep getting hired.
All his DC movies have been crap, and you would have to pay me to watch them.

mazingerz88's avatar

^^They keep getting hired because they can deliver the product on time. Which is paramount to the business model. I think.

Batman is not a super hero. He’s a rich ass vigilante punk with his boy toy Robin.

I will not waste three hours of my life watching crappy movies.

@mazingerz88
The bigger strike against them, is that the movies they make, do not get the financial returns the studios expect.
Snyder’s DC movies were financial disappointments, and Abrams ran both Star Trek and Star Wars into the financial ground.

mazingerz88's avatar

The earning reports I have seen seem to indicate Snyder delivered some profits before JL. Underwhelming for sure. It’s a failure of top leadership. No one up there knows which right people to hire to produce their superhero films.

Darth_Algar's avatar

“Ran into the financial ground”? That’s certainly an odd way to say “took in $4 billion”.

ragingloli's avatar

@Darth_Algar
And each sequel made less than the previous one.
Episode 7 made 2 billion, whereas episode 9 barely crossed 1 billion.

Darth_Algar's avatar

Yet still made a shit ton.

Caravanfan's avatar

Of course I will watch the Snyder Cut. I’m a DC guy. But I don’t care about the “fuck”. I’m looking forward to Ray Porter voicing Darkseid.

mazingerz88's avatar

4 billion isn’t a lot these days. WB had fired hundreds if not a few thousand employees in the past several years.

Batman films hold no interest.
