With the third dose of vaccination for old people in nursing homes, this could encourage serious outbreaks and deaths. Experts do not agree on the point in time at which the vaccination protection is weakened to such an extent that a refresher is necessary. For very old people with a weaker immune system and the greatest risk of severe to fatal Covid-19, however, it is very questionable whether final certainty is needed

I’m sorry, I don’t understand your question.
Your Q doesn’t make sense. A lot of the Swiss aren’t getting the vaccine because they feel it’s a money grab. Most of them do believe the elderly need the protection of the vaccine. Most everyone in the world believes the Pfizer vaccine needs a booster for very elderly and immunocompromised. There have been Israeli, German, and US studies showing low or no antibodies in a significant number of these populations after the two dose series and we have breakthrough cases and even deaths to help prove it.
@omtatsat You seem to post a lot of opinions against vaccine usage and efficacy. Your details on this Question are just another rant.
They are giving boosters here already with little ill effects. I had one a month ago and many other have too. You aren’t making sense.

@JLeslie Sorry. I should have put it in inverted commas as its a quote from one of the most read newspapers in Switzerland ( translated from German.) So it’s not my rant as someone likes to call it .!
^^can you restate your question? It doesn’t really make sense as it is, I’m not sure if we are answering what you really want to ask.
In a way people first receiving the third dose are being “experimented on” basically like a phase 4, but now we have data for millions of people who have received a third dose, and everything looks ok for safety.
The initial trials for third dose were only a few hundred people who volunteered (I don’t remember the exact number) for third dose and they knew they were in a trial, they volunteered, and reported all symptoms and side effects etc. Then, after that the third started being given to the greater population staring with the most vulnerable.
@JLeslie Because in Switzerland they are unsure about giving the booster to old people-and whether it’s time to give a booster to the elderly. But nevertheless they are giving it in spite of the warnings. So to me it would seem that these people are becoming the ” guinea pigs ”. This is mainly taking place in old peoples homes and geriatric homes.
@omtatsat Is it Pfizer? Pfizer has a lot of data now. Both in clinical trials and millions of people who chose to were given a third shot already. In the US many people have received their 3rd Pfizer or Moderna. I know about 50 people personally let alone the millions I don’t know personally.
Ok, so no worries, millions have received the third shots now. Safety looks very good.
I know the Swiss have been more hesitant for the vaccine than the rest of Western Europe. Do you live in Switzerland?
