What should Jimmy Lee Swaggart have done after the failure to overcome it and achieve much greater success?

Asked by freguarUK (362points) August 6th, 2022

I have to ask about it. Then he was more than 50 years old. How should he cooperate with America? How would he have to change his activities in order to significantly surpass himself? What place and activity should have been “sent down to him from heaven” in America in this scenario? All responses are clear neutral and serious please.

Nothing. He was a criminal and a liar. People trusted him because they felt he represented the word of god. His criminality lost that trust.

As far as I am concerned, once he lied and cheated the people who believed in him, there is/was nothing he can do to recover.

The best he could have hoped for was picking up trash.

Fallen paladins rarely recover their status from evil acts. Those that do undertake a grand quest to regain trust.

Also money talks. Have him bring the money back, and all would be forgiven and forgotten.

What failure? The prostitute? Forget it.

I think he should have done serious soul-searching, and then come completely and utterly clean, confessing not only all his fraud and crimes, but also all of the inauthentic aspects of his preposterous money-grubbing nonsense of a ministry, exposing as much of that farce as possible, so that the countless people who fall for such terrible nonsense might see the real light that most such televangelists are preposterous money-grubbers whose messages are just about as opposite Jesus as it’s possible to get.
