It is only worth it if you are going to really use whatever you buy.

Most foods it isn’t worth it because it goes bad before one uses it up.

If you’re talking about food, I don’t usually buy dinner to have it delivered, or food on the internet.

If you’re talking about products from a store, like Walmart, where there’s a minimum purchase for free delivery, I may think of something else that I need in order to reach the minimum so I don’t have to pay shipping, or I may wait and leave the items in the cart and wait a few days to see if maybe I’m going to the store in person. It may be that store, or it may be another store, so the company is not necessarily benefitting from me when that happens. I will almost never pay shipping. It’s against my personal philosophy lol. The only time I will be willing to pay shipping is if I am buying a used book from Amazon, in which case it is on the Amazon site but it’s often from a third party seller, so the book may be only a few dollars and the shipping will be about four dollars. That’s the most I’ll pay for shipping and that’s about the only time I’m willing to pay for shipping, as far as products go.

You also need to make sure the check-out gives you the discount.

I will if it’s something I’m going to use in time. Soup, oat milk, beans – things that are in long-lasting containers, that I will use.

Sure. If it’s a consumable that I use.

It’s sort of worth it. I usually think of my groceries as a weekly thing, and if the store is presenting an option like 2 for 1 chips, I ask myself if I really need to consume two bags of chips this week, since I know if I have them, I’ll eat them. Yes, the cost per chip is down, but the deal will double my chip consumption, which I realize I don’t actually want to do.

If it’s a discount on batteries, baby wipes, bandages, or some other essential, or on something I can stash in the freezer for a while, I’ll buy for the discount.

If I know I’ll use it up before it goes bad I’ll buy it.
