Who are wishes made to?

Asked by krose1223 (3269points) October 4th, 2008

So when little kids blow their candles out on their birthday, who are they wishing to? Just for funzies I like to make wishes every chance I get, falling stars, railroads, 11:11 (and other times like this) etc. But I don’t know who I’m asking to grant my wish. Is there a wish fairy?

@wildflower- haha I love it. Sometimes I lean towards land knomes though… I blame and thank them for everything. Don’t ask why, I think it started from an inside joke in middle school

Birth Vader, the Sith birthday fairy, of course.

The tenth dimension, otherwise known as God.

I was waiting for that answer. lol But even when I was religious I didn’t feel like I was talking to God when I blew out my birthday candles.

When I blow out my birthday candles I always say this wish in my mind-
O great and powerful dark lord of the underworld, I beseech thee to grant my request. All that I have, all that I am belongs to you, o horned prince of death.
And then my wish would follow. So far it’s worked out pretty well.

Hmm… I’ll have to try that next time. I haven’t had any luck with my wishes.

I make them to myself. Then I make them come true.
