Why do the Republicans seem to have such an affinity for extreme, right-wing dictatorships?

Isn’t this somewhat contrary to the concept of independence and choice. Check this article McCain, Chiquita, Terrorists

Fascism isn’t about choice and independence. Neither is Socialism.

Funny how the extremes come so close to each other, eh?

Socialism, as a concept and as practiced in Sweden, doesn’t deprive one of choice and independence.

Socialism seems to work better in smaller populations, which is where Sweden comes in. In theory, it’s great. Taken to its extreme, though, as it usually is, it concentrates the wealth and power into the hands of a few government bureaucrats. I fail to see how the effect is different from other kinds of government control.

@laureth: “it concentrates the wealth and power into the hands of a few government bureaucrats” This wouldn’t be socialism.

Who collects and redistributes the wealth in Socialism?

For the same reason Democrats have an affinity for extreme left wing dictatorships. We all belive our ideas are best.
