If it's raining tomorrow, will you vote?

I can’t believe the news media is saying that rain keeps people from going to the polls!

If it’s snowing, hailing, raining, foggy, windy, or Satan himself is stomping the pavement with giant red hooves—I’m voting.

I just gotta find some holy water first.

And for the record, it was raining the first time I voted in 2004.

Happily, I’ve already voted. But if I hadn’t, no, it wouldn’t stop me.

I’ll vote no matter what type of weather is occurring. Luckily in Phoenix, Arizona, we don’t get weather. Only sunshine.

@asmonet: I think I’m falling in lurve with you. LOL

@poof: blushes

Gee, with a “PLEASE VOTE” avatar, I can only imagine what JP will say below….~

I have seen charts and graphs that actually do point out that turnout is lower in inclement weather. I’m lazy and I am not going to dig them up for you.

The weather thing would probably benefit Obama. People are excited to vote for him and will put up with more to cast their vote. The McCain crowd isn’t as enthusiastic.

edit :: And to answer your question. I have already voted. And if I hadn’t I would happily stand in the rain for a few hours tomorrow.

Not everyone can drive to their nearest voting station, and perhaps walking through the rain doesn’t seem worth it to some folks.

But yes, if I was American, and if it did rain tomorrow, I would vote.

HAHAHA, I just checked the weather, and apparently, it is going to rain on me tomorrow. :D

Too many good people have died in the rain to secure that right for me to ignore it.

@asmonet: Note, I said lurve. Not love. That’d be weird. I’m straight. LOL

asmonet's avatar

@poof: Me too, until I find a kegger. It’s cool. I lurve you too…sober.

Well, if I hadn’t voted already, the rain certainly wouldn’t have deterred me. But I love voting absentee!

YES!! I WILL VOTE… We are trying to decide what time to go… In New York they did not have early voting so what will the polls be like??!!!???!!

DandyDear711's avatar

I am also wondering where we will park. Several districts vote at the town hall and the parking lot isn’t very big…

EmpressPixie's avatar

Well, I voted two weeks ago. But if I hadn’t, I’d go through almost anything to do it.

No early voting in Maryland, so I imagine the polls will be crowded. It is worth any time or trouble to be able to cast my vote! I wouldn’t miss it for the world!

I second what asmonet said, right down to the fact that it was raining when I voted in 2004!

augustlan's avatar

Just like the mail man, I’d be there no matter what…if I hadn’t already voted on 10/15!

@myself – no lines and no trouble parking at between 6 am and 8 am. My elderly parents voted in NC at 8 am and they only had a 20 minute wait…
