Do you let other people use your Fluther?

Asked by blakemasnor (323points) December 11th, 2008

If one of my friends has a question that needs more than a dictionary, or I just want to show it off, I let them use my fluther. Does anyone else do this?

No.

It would feell ike letting someone use my underwear. It violates multiple rules of mine.

Allie's avatar

Nope. I’ll ask for them then let them know what people said. Maybe.

Why can’t they just create their own account?

dynamicduo's avatar

No. Accounts are free, if they want to ask a question they’re free to join on their own.

No. But I will say something like, according to my boyfriend “Blah blah blah” sometimes.

Specifically every so often I will tell him something someone said in a religious discussion and he will say “Say back to them:”. But I am never willing to actually pretend his words are mine, so if he put time and effort into it, I’ll go ahead and post it as his words.

wundayatta's avatar

I’ve seen a lot of trouble result from people sharing accounts. I would never do it.

answerjill's avatar

No, I would feel like someone is stealing my identity!

skfinkel's avatar

I have asked questions for others. Even that feels a little strange.

scamp's avatar

Nope. Tell your friends to create their own account. Doing this is against the rules and could get you banned, or at least spanked by the fluther gods!!

Allie's avatar

We don’t spank unless you ask us to. ;-)

emilyrose's avatar

No but I do sometimes ask questions for other people, but I encourage them to ask their own.

No way! It is my Fluther, representing me and my thoughts. It would be lying if someone else posted to my account. I will ask a question for someone, making it clear that it is their questions. I will also quote someone, again making it clear that it is a quote. I’ll even help them set up their own account.

But they cannot pretend to be me (I’ve got enough problems being me without someone else being me, too).

I have used it for my parents: my mom wanted an idea for an appetizer and my dad wanted a new toilet.
I never let people play around with it though….all my answers are ME and ME ONLY

emilyrose's avatar

@90s—I don’t want my parents to know about fluther. I’m worried they would join and read my stuff! My name is kind of obvious : )

jrpowell's avatar

I let friends use my account if they are at my house. Only a few bad things have happened.

Jamila's avatar

lol! no
but i used to use my friend’s account for a long time

Comedian's avatar

Yep! But only my close friend. And she doesn’t know what the password is, so I log on it for her.

@Jamila: welcome to Fluther

syz's avatar

No. I will post a question of behalf of someone else, though.

TitsMcGhee's avatar

I’ll get someone an account, but I want mine to be all mine. I’d feel so cheap, esp if I got lurve that wasn’t really for me.

greylady's avatar

No. I would not share my account. I might agree to ask a question for someone, though I have not ever done it.
But I have (verbally) shared some of the good things I have learned here with others.

tiggersmom's avatar

No, no one touches my puter! If my daughter wants ot have me ask a question, then I will do that for her, but nope. Not using the puter. lol

Jeruba's avatar

What? Post under someone else’s identity, let someone else post under mine? No more than I would share my driver’s license or lend out my face.

augustlan's avatar

No way, no how. It’s mine, I tell ya’...all mine.

I would ask a question on someone’s behalf, but I’d make that clear in the details.

Jamila's avatar

@ Comedian !!! Thanx alot =)

tiggersmom's avatar

@Augustian, I know how you feel, “It’s mine, go and get your own!” Mwhahahaha!!!!! lmao roff

gooch's avatar

No its mine. I dont share.

Comedian's avatar

@Jamila: That’s what I’m here for!

girlofscience's avatar

Yeah, sure.

You people take this shit way too seriously.

Comedian's avatar

whoa whoa whoa….no need to have a hissy fit.

girlofscience's avatar

Since when is a calm sentence a hissy fit?

Comedian's avatar

you just made it seem like a hissy fit…it’s hard to tell over the internet gosh

tiggersmom's avatar

Not a hissy fit, but a very strong statement that seems to have implications of one. I would never let someone use something with my name attached to it, because you never know if they are doing something illegal on your name. Not going to do that to my name.

Comedian's avatar

Let me correct my first statement, I only let her use it when I’m around and we make answers together.

@Tigger:a very VERY strong statement

tiggersmom's avatar

Thank you Comedian. Much appreciated.

Comedian's avatar

I didn’t really thank you, but…ok

girlofscience's avatar

lol… I think I know my friends well enough that I can trust them with my Fluther account… I’m really not worried about one of my girlfriends doing “something illegal” on Fluther. Good god…

tiggersmom's avatar

@girlofscience, I wasn’t just referring to this site, there are other things on your computer that you open up to when someone is using your name, and if you are trusting enough to turn your back long enough for them to do something, then that is on you.

Comedian's avatar

PREACH IT TIGGERSMUM!!! I mean mom

tiggersmom's avatar

LMAO ROFF. AH SAYA, YOUA, SHAILL NOTA, GIVEA, YOUAAA, USEA, NAIMEAAAAA, TOA, YOUA, FRIEEEENDSA, THEEEA, USEAAAA, OOOOFAAA, YOUAAAA, COMPUTERAAA!!!!! LMAO ROFF!!!!!

@Comedian, good enough?

Comedian's avatar

tiggersmom's avatar

ctimm15's avatar
