Someone threw shoes at Bush in Baghdad! He ducked pretty quick! Hilarious!

Their aim could’ve been better, but the spirit was there.

Man, the video wouldn’t load! That’s like the worst insult over there, isn’t it?

omfgTALIjustIMDu's avatar

@augustlan, Yes, the article says throwing a shoe at someone or sitting so the bottom of the shoe faces someone is a mortal insult over there.

I almost feel bad for Bush, with all the recent insulting actions he’s been shown.

augustlan's avatar

Thanks, Judi…that one worked. He really hurled those things, didn’t he!

chyna's avatar

I can’t believe the guy had enough time to throw both shoes. CIA reacted a little slow.

laureth's avatar

“That’s what happens in free societies,” is what they’re reporting Bush said.

Funny, the lengths they go to to prevent the same thing from happening here at home…

El_Cadejo's avatar

wow CIA was all kinds of slow on their reaction. Shame that guys aim sucked.

syz's avatar

Wow. I guess that guy’ll get shipped off to Gitmo.

shilolo's avatar

I’m sure Fox News will soon report the shoes look like this.

Ort's avatar

High stakes insult. That was a bold move by that journalist. I’m a fan of nonviolent protest, myself. I hope he’s OK.

rossi_bear's avatar

He need more then shoes thrown at him.lol

wundayatta's avatar

I’m not proud of it, but I laughed hysterically at that. The image of shoes flying past the President’s bulbous ears is just too much!

chicadelplaya's avatar

Wow! It’s about time somebody threw something at him. However, I think that guy is as good as dead.

Comedian's avatar

That guy has good aim! I hate bush, but that was kinda sad. I’m supposed to be doing my homework, so I’m trying to cover up my laughing

dalepetrie's avatar

Too bad Eddie Murphy’s mother wasn’t there.

Mtl_zack's avatar

@ort: I think that that can be classified as violent protest.

Comedian's avatar

My dad saw it and he started cracking up. At first he thought it was like a comedy routine lol! Aaahhhh…good times, good times.

Ort's avatar

@Mtl: I agree. Shoe chucking definitely qualifies. That’s part of why they came down on him so hard, too- you could hear him howling in pain as they subdued him. :(

Trustinglife's avatar

Anyone else notice all the men in suits who burst out of the door behind Bush? It was like agents straight out of the Matrix!

Trustinglife's avatar

And was Bush smiling after the first shoe was thrown? What is that about?

finkelitis's avatar

The president’s reflexes are quite good.

This other news story and others like it show how bad things have been for Bush lately.

RandomMrAdam's avatar

If you can dodge a shoe, you can dodge a ball!

dalepetrie's avatar

If you can dodge a shoe, you can dodge a hammer.

finkelitis's avatar

Or an impeachment.

cdwccrn's avatar

I feel sorry for the shoe thrower. He will/has paid a big price for that protest.
