Do you have a creative set of rules for a group gift exchange?

Asked by tekn0lust (1868points) December 17th, 2008

I’m wondering if anyone has come across a creative set of rules for a friendly group gift exchange. I remember one office party being something like this:

Everyone brings a similarly priced gift that is wrapped. Everyone draws numbers and then #1 chooses and opens a gift. Then #2 goes and opens a gift. If they want they can steal any gift already opened. Repeat until all opened. The only catch is that a gift can only be stolen twice.

You sure that was an office party or were you just watching “The Office”....season 2 Christmas episode I believe. Might have been somewhere in season 3 though.

Dunno, never watched The Office.

That is called a ‘White Elephant’ gift exchange…it’s pretty common, and commonly disliked too.
