Windows XP: Taskbar is on the right (vertically), how do I get it back on the bottom (horizontal)?

Asked by MissAnthrope (21511points) December 18th, 2008

My mom is not very technically-inclined, I’m now trying to fix various things on her PC. She has XP Home Edition and somehow managed to move her taskbar to the right of the screen and I have no idea how to get it back. Please help. :)

Nevermind.. I clicked on the blue part of the taskbar and dragged it to the bottom of the screen and that did it. Weird!

Yup, clicking and dragging an empty part of the Windows taskbar will let you move it to any of the four sides. If you don’t want to let it move though, you can lock it down by right-clicking and selecting the “Lock the Taskbar” command.
