Dress dilemma?

Asked by Triozoo (396points) January 11th, 2009

I’m attending a formal event which is required to have an outfit suited for this occasion; something such as a plain dress, skirt, or dress pants. I had used an internet photo as my reference for my idea dress. Although I wasn’t able to find a dress like the the original one I had wanted, I’d found a alternative.

The one I bought

Give me you’re opinion on both dresses and what you personally think of the purchased one :)

Note: I’m rather tall with a average/slim figure.

I really like the one you bought (you can’t go wrong with black) and its very bold. However, if you were to hold each of those up and ask me to choose I would select the idea dress. ***I have been to many formal occasions and it’s never really about what you wear as to how you wear it and your attitude. I’m sure you will look great!!

If this an event with a business slant or formal in the cocktail sense rather than the wedding sense then I think you have the perfect dress! I love it and I would totally wear it to an evening work function or formal cocktail party. It is super cute and fashion forward! Can I ask where you got it?

I like both dresses. The second seems more youthful and fun.

If this event has a business slant, I think the one you picked is a little too social. The original one is more classic.

I liked both the dresses you shared. but the one you bought is better than the first one. formal events demand dresses which are more sophisticated and sober.
